Infinity Castle was absolutely sensational and not only did it generate huge amounts of money for the franchise, along with pushing it to the top of the Japanese box office and made history, but it was also great for the manga.

As with all anime movies, fans are well aware that they continue to boost sales of the manga tremendously. Demon Slayer saw a massive increase in sales despite ending almost 5 years ago, and that increase lasted for a good portion of that time. However, the Infinity Castle hype is now wearing off, and Demon Slayer is surpassed by other series. Series falling under likes One pieceamong other things is no surprise. But in fact, it has now been surpassed by a new manga called Daemons of the Shadow Region. This new manga is written by Hiromu Arakawawho fans may remember as the original writer Fullmetal Alchemist.

As mentioned earlier, Demon Slayer has been on the receiving end of a fairly massive increase in sales recentlyand understandably so, given the massive success of Infinity Castle. However, it appears to be the sales of this manga are decreasing every monthand that goes without saying, especially when other bigger series get newer releases.
It is surprising that one of the latest manga series, the so-called Daemons of the Shadow Realm, from the same author as Fullmetal Alchemisthas now surpassed Demon Slayer in November's monthly sales. Demons of the Shadow Realm he got a new volume release recently and that certainly benefited him a lot in terms of overcoming Demon Slayer. This new manga is also getting an anime adaptation that only takes it further. Any story from the author Fullmetal Alchemist will always be great to see.
When it comes to numbers, Demon Slayer had 128.7 thousand sales for the whole monthwhich extends over all its volumes. Meantime, Daemons of the Shadow Realm had 156.6 thousand saleswhich is quite an impressive number for a new manga that has yet to have a proper anime adaptation.

Although it goes without saying Demon Slayer loses to many other manga series every monthit must be remembered that it actually has no new release and all it has is content from about 5 years ago. Its performance on the Oricon charts shows just how big the Demon Slayer franchise has truly become.

The Demon Slayer movies are a huge hit, but they're ruining the anime.
It's also worth noting that Demon Slayer isn't finished yet. The last two Infinity Castle films will definitely boost sales significantly. The biggest sales boost the manga will receive will most likely come after the final Infinity Castle movie finally airs, and fans should be very excited about that.
Demons of the Shadow Realm have enormous potential
On the other hand, Daemons of the Shadow Realm holds enormous potential. So far, fans of the manga have absolutely loved what the story has to offer, and that's also one of the many reasons why it's been getting an anime adaptation so quickly.
It looks like this story will continue to grow in popularity and most fans are counting on it to grow even more and introduce it to a global audience.
