Soul of Demons received a new update in October 2025 that brings the game to version 1.007.000. The update follows a fairly recent update for the PlayStation 5 that enables the new PlayStation pro feature Soul of Demons.
AND 2020 remake of the original PS3 game, Soul of Demons it was received as a great success after years of fan interest in making it happen. While the game has been largely dormant lately due to a lack of major updates, a new one has now come out that offers players a different way to enjoy the game.
Demon's Souls Edition 1,007,000 Update
Soul of Demons was now updated to version 1.007, which gave the game the ability to play with the new Power Saver feature on the PlayStation 5. Power Saver mode was added to the PlayStation 5 console as early as September 2025, but only a few games announced plans to use it. One of them was Soul of Demonswhich has now fulfilled its promise while the remaining games have Death Stranding 2: On the Beachand Ghost of Yotei. Those who haven't used the Power Saver feature yet and want to try it out can easily activate it. Players just need to go to the settings screen, then system, power saving and then activate the power saving mode. It is not known at this time what other games will be added to the Power Saving compatible list or when they will be added.
Reducing PlayStation 5 power consumption while gaming Soul of Demons it costs something, of course. According to numerous reports, the game is limited to 30 frames per second in save mode and the game is displayed at a lower resolution. It's a long way from the 60FPS and 4K that the PlayStation 5 can do, but it could be a good option for those trying to save power or reduce the amount of heat their PS5 produces. One analysis found that the PlayStation 5 went from a normal consumption of around 230W when playing a game to 100W with power saving mode on, dramatically reducing power consumption.
PlayStation and Sony are taking steps to reduce energy consumption and be more environmentally friendly. However, some also suspect that PlayStation could also be working on technology that would reduce power consumption while maintaining the best possible performance for its vaunted handheld. While not confirmed, the alleged handheld would likely use significantly less power than a powerful home console like the Steam Deck or the ROG Xbox Ally X.
