Fate 2 players are venting their frustration over the change they can get for seasonal XP and Bright Dust, which massively affects progression during Renegades. This isn't the first time the community has taken issue with some of the mechanics Bungie has implemented Fate 2 in dealing with the game's economy, and given how often it changes, it probably won't be the last either.
Although Star WarsThe Renegades-inspired expansion didn't have such a positive impact on the present Fate 2 The number of players that many probably hoped for, the new content was well received by critics and fans alike. Reception has already been much more positive than The Edge of Fate, which was heavily criticized for a number of things such as Kepler-only abilities, the introduction of the portal, as well as various bugs and glitches that affected the experience. While Renegades was much better than the release of its predecessor, fans have noticed one element that is now much worse than before.

Destiny 2 Renegades Seasonal XP and Bright Dust Controversy
Bright dust in Fate 2 is a free currency that players can spend in the in-game store, from cosmetics, shaders, to just about everything else on offer. Over the years, players have had many ways to earn them, usually through completing bounties, seasonal challenges, and more recently the Pathfinder system. As a live service title, Fate 2 is constantly changing, and so is the ability to earn Bright Dust, and with Renegades, Bungie has now made an even bigger change to resource acquisition.
After removing the Pathfinder system with startup Fate 2 On Edge of Fate, players had fewer ways to earn Bright DUst. Now that Renegades has done away with seasonal challenges entirely and added a cap on how much Bright Dust could be earned per week and per season through the new order system, players are feeling the pinch more than ever. Many took to Reddit to express their concerns and frustration, with many calling BUngie stingy while others warned that this would happen. The creator of the thread, e-photographer, highlighted all the methods that have been removed over time and asked the community how much more they were willing to undergo.
However, the Bright Dust change is only part of it, as Renegades has also scrapped the Seasonal Challenge system. Previously, players could complete these weekly quests and earn a large amount of experience that was used to pass battles seasonally, and even help players who lost catch up later in the season. With the introduction of the order system incl Fate 2 Renegades, players now have a repeatable system for completing quests, earning XP and Bright Dust rewards, along with daily and weekly quests. Unfortunately, the experience gained is significantly less than the old Seasonal Challenge system, and they also have far fewer tasks to complete per week, making the grind much longer than it was in the past.
It is currently unknown if Bungie will make adjustments to any of these systems based on player feedback. Given all the issues the studio faced during Edge of Fate, incl Fate 2With a rapidly declining player base, Bungie was pretty reactive to things people didn't like or didn't like. The studio removed Unstable Cores, a new resource that never really caught on with players, and also tweaked the grind to make it more rewarding. It's possible that Bungie could do with a few tweaks, especially since then Fate 2 hasn't recovered to this point, so removing some of the friction and frustrating aspects for players might be a way to get some of that back.
