Diablo 4Dubbed the Season of Divine Intervention, the 11th season is coming in just a few days and brings a lot of much-needed changes to the game loop, different game activities, gear upgrades, and what kind of loot players can get. Since most of the changes coming with Season of Divine Intervention are permanent and affect gameplay beyond Season 11's newly created characters, Diablo 4 players need to be careful what they do before the update goes live and what is best saved for later.
Season 11 of Diablo 4 begins on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 8:30 PM PDT. This is also the time of the end of Season 10, the season of Infernal Chaos.
While most players create a new character when Diablo 4Season 11 kicks off because that's the only way to experience the season's tricks and content when they're introduced, many others will linger in the Eternal Realm to finish testing builds, max out characters created in Season 10, or simply wait until 2026 when all S11 content is released. If playing Eternal is something you want to do, even a little bit, when Season 11 starts, you shouldn't be using any Resplendent Sparks to craft Mythic Uniques until the new update goes live.
Diablo 4 season 11 revealed and it's a game changer
Diablo 4 Season 11 arrives on December 11th with a new seasonal challenge and permanent gameplay changes that shake up the game in a big way.
How to get glowing sparks in Diablo 4, what changes in season 11
To get Resplendent Sparks inside Diablo 4players usually have to defeat Uber Lilith for the first time in a season or complete the seasonal reputation table. You can then save the Mythic Unique and get Resplendent Spark, which can then be used to create more Mythic Uniques.
Diablo 4The ultimate Resplendent Spark farm was introduced in Season 10. It goes like this:
-
Farm Infernal Warp on your main character.
-
Talk to Shyan and buy the Warp Scrolls.
-
Transfer at least 89 warp scrolls to your stash.
-
Create a new character from the same class as your main.
-
Complete the Sands of Chaos Season Quest to unlock the S10 reputation board.
-
Collect 89 warp scrolls from your stash and use them to gain 22,500 reputation and reach max rank.
-
Collect all cache rewards from tracking Seasonal Reputation.
-
Hide all caches and log back into your main character.
-
Use caches to get loot and a guaranteed glowing spark.
Since Resplendent Sparks are retained on seasonal characters when they are transferred to the Eternal Realm, you can keep them all to create more mythic uniques. However, if you use Resplendent Sparks to craft Mythics before the Season 11 drop, those items will immediately become legacy gear once the update goes live, meaning they will no longer be upgradeable.
Season 11 Diablo 4 Tempering, Masterwork, and Affixes Explained
Upgrade Mythics v Diablo 4 is a big part of the game, and using Resplendent Sparks to get good items that you can use in Eternal to test builds, create new characters, or finish equipping your current one can be counterproductive. This is because outside of seasonal mechanics like Sanctification, the game is undergoing massive changes to the upgrade system. These are:
-
Tempering items in Diablo 4Season 11 forces you to choose from a list of possible affixes for the one you want, but the range on the roll is still random. Tempering is also limited to one item.
-
All items will have 4 affixes, as opposed to 2 or 3 before.
-
Items can be mastered to increase their quality, which:
-
Increase armor on all armor pieces.
-
Increase the resistance of all jewels.
-
Increase damage on all weapons.
-
Increase all affixes by 1% for each quality level (cap at 20).
-
-
Fully masterfully crafted item in Diablo 4 may gain a peak bonus that improves a random Affix or Greater Affix by 50% (rerollable).
-
Sanctification, which is exclusive to season 11 after completing the seasonal quest, permanently locks the item from future changes, but gives it a random property.
Why you should wait to create mythic uniques in Diablo 4
All of these changes, except for the sanctify option, will be effective once Season 11 is released. This means that Eternals will be labeled as “legacies” as they will have two temper rolls and fewer affixes. As such, you should save your Resplendent Sparks to craft Mythic Uniques in them Diablo 4 after the release of a new patch; otherwise, these items will also be classified as heirlooms. Furthermore, the new Masterworking system v Diablo 4 it can make most items better than they could be before, so it's worth the wait.
