The season of God's intervention is approaching the sanctuary and Diablo 4 players will have to say goodbye to some of the best features of Season 10. While Diablo 4 Season 11 brings some major changes to features like combat, renown, and gear upgrades, it's hard not to be a little disappointed that Chaos Armor and Chaos Perks will be gone after Season 10 ends. Getting swept up in change is one thing Diablo 4 a boss that, while not getting an outright rework, will undoubtedly be affected for the worse in Season 11.
Despite Chaos Armor and Chaos Perks going by the wayside Diablo 4 Season 11, some of the new features introduced in Season 10 remain permanently. The Infernal Hordes rework and its added boss Bartuc, Lord of Chaos, will still be available in Season 11. However, Bartuc's main claim to fame will no longer be there, making him one to avoid for players in the upcoming season.
Diablo 4 players have little reason to fight Bartuc in Season 11
In a complete 180 from his role in Diablo 4 In Season 10, Bartuc will be the boss and very few players will actively farm him. Previously, Bartuc was a great resource for accessing the best 10th grade resources such as:
-
Guaranteed Chaos Armor on Torment 3 and 4
-
The unique perks of chaos
-
Scroll of Restoration
-
You will hug
-
Gold
Bartuc has been added as an alternate boss to the standard Fell Council that can be faced by players who complete each wave of the Infernal Hordes. However, it requires a hefty 666 Burning Aether to access, meaning players really need to optimize their Infernal Hordes run to have a chance of reaping its rewards.
Bartuc never discards Chaos Armor or Chaos Unique Perks again
No Chaos Armor or Chaos Perks Diablo 4 Season 11, choosing to fight Bartuc will be much less attractive. In Season 10, defeating Bartuc was the only way to gain unique chaos benefits, meaning players wanted to create a meta Diablo 4 build would have to face him at least 4 times to unlock all the unique chaos perks for their class. Farming Bartuca was also one of the best ways to get Chaos Armor as it was guaranteed to drop them on Torment 3 and 4 difficulty.
Blizzard hasn't announced if Bartuc will get a new seasonal item drop in Season 11, but based on his Eternal Realm version, it looks like Bartuc will keep all of his same drops minus the Chaos Armor and Perks.
Bartuc is a much more expensive and lower paying boss of the Infernal Hordes this season
While Bartuc will still spend significant resources like gold, Obducite, and standard legendary and unique gear after defeat, the 666 Burning Aether cost doesn't seem like a worthy tradeoff without Chaos Armor or Perks to sweeten the deal. Access to the Fell Council after the Infernal Hordes run is free, and Aether players can be spent on their reward chests for the same, if not more, of these same resources. The only reason to choose Bartuce over the Fell Council in Diablo 4 Season 11 is for the Scroll of Restoration, which has new perks as part of the change Diablo 4Temperature system.
Scrolls of Restoration allow players to reset the Temper charges on an item to re-temper it to their liking. Previously, Temper charges could only be restored once with a Scroll of Restoration, but Season 11 removes this limit. Since tempering now allows players to choose the affix they want, rather than leaving it to chance with a random one, Scrolls of Restoration may not be as necessary going forward unless players decide at some point they want to change their build. Whether this makes the Scroll of Restoration worth the 666 Burning Aether required to challenge Bartuc is up to the player, so the boss ends up being just a shell of its Season 10 self.
