Blizzard announced Diablo 4 Known as the Season of Divine Intervention, Season 11 brings a huge set of changes that overhaul the core gameplay loop. Not only can players expect a new batch of seasonal challenges and features, but this update also includes permanent mechanical changes and gameplay additions. Diablo 4 Players will have plenty to dive into at the start of Season 11, including a new world boss, an invasion of Lesser Evils, and seasonal Divine Gifts powers.
After the widely popular season 10, some Diablo 4 fans may be disappointed to see game-changing features like Chaos Perks and Chaos Armor as Season of Infernal Chaos transitions into Season of Divine Intervention. Blizzard is constantly innovating seasonal mechanics for Diablo 4and the new features in Season 11 have the potential to be just as revolutionary for the game 2 years after its launch. Diablo 4 fans won't have to wait long to experience these features for themselves as the season of divine intervention is just around the corner.
Diablo 4 Season 11 releases on December 11th
In a previous blog post Diablo 4 Season 11 Update Developer Livestream December 3rd Blizzard revealed details about the upcoming season of Divine Intervention. This announcement includes a gameplay trailer along with a schedule of what players can expect from Season 11. While the main features of the game Diablo 4 Season 11 is permanent changes to Tempering and Masterworking, players can also expect a wide variety of seasonal activities.
Lesser evils invade Sanctuary Diablo 4 Season 11, including the new World Boss Azmodan. Players team up with the angel Hadriel to fight against these invading demons, and the High Heavens grant players new powers to aid in their efforts. Divine Gifts are a new seasonal power that comes in both damaged and cleared gifts, and the new sanctification mechanic allows players to add a new layer of power to their gear.
Permanent changes are coming to the 11th season of Diablo 4
While Tempering and Masterworking won't add the same level of randomness to gear upgrades as in past seasons, players will need to ensure that their gear is as optimized as possible thanks to monster difficulty tweaks in Diablo 4 Season 11. Enemies will now be much more lethal, with more powerful affixes and smarter behaviors such as less grouping between monster packs. Players will also have to watch out for the new one Diablo 4 defensive stat, toughness, which indicates a player's overall defensive ability.
It comes later Diablo 4 update 2.5.2 in early 2026 is tower and leaderboards, a new way for players to test their competitive skills. After their removal in Season 6, this new leaderboard system returns permanently in Season 11 and will allow players to show off their skills and build by completing a timed tower dungeon as quickly as possible for a chance to get their name on the leaderboard.

Curiously, Diablo 4 Season 11 is scheduled to begin on Thursday, December 11th at 8:30 PM PST, not Tuesday at 10:00 AM PST, as it has been for most past seasons. This time, The Game Awards 2025 will air, which fans are already speculating could be the venue for the announcement Diablo 4 Expansion 2. As such, fans may want to tune in to The Game Awards for any potential Diablo 4 update before jumping into season 11 when it launches.
