However, players should not expect to be able to claim these rewards right at the start of the game Diablo 4 Season 11.
Blizzard launches The Tower as part of Diablo 4 Season 11, which offers a new final activity for experienced players. The bottom line is that The Tower will finally bring the charts back Diablo 4which the community has been clamoring for ever since their removal in season 6. But for many of the best Diablo 4 players, when it comes to bragging rights, just facing the leaderboards isn't enough, and Blizzard is well aware of that for The Tower.
Diablo 4 players can earn “prestige” tower cosmetics by facing leaderboards
Associate Game Director Zaven Haroutunian confirmed in an interview with YouTuber Rob2628 that The Tower endgame activity in Diablo 4 it will provide “functional rewards” such as gear and currency, but will also feature new “prestige” cosmetics, including titles and halos for the top players at the top of the leaderboards at the time of each reset. According to Haroutunian, the idea behind titles is that “your character earns the right to have that title and there's some special formatting and visuals on it.” Halos will be another exclusive cosmetic available to players who are at the top of the leaderboards, which Haroutunian says is a way for players to “show off.”
All of these Diablo 4 cosmetics will be tied to the specific character who earns them, rather than the account. “It belongs to the guy. Not your account, you can't just equip it at level 1 or something like that… So 'Great ***, that guy got #1 on Barb' or something like that… this is a very exclusive list of people who will be able to do this. They're the best placements in the whole community.” Haroutunian says Blizzard is still discussing how often the leaderboards will be reset in Season 11 and beyond.
However, players should not expect to be able to earn these new cosmetics immediately. Due to their exclusivity and Blizzard's desire to make them a status symbol, there is also a need to ensure The Tower is a “super highly integrated space” before giving out rewards. “Everything actually has to be functional, it has to actually be balanced, it has to be perceived as fair by the community, it has to be accepted by the community.” Haroutunian insists that “we're committed to doing it, it's going to happen. All eyes are now on the Tower being a competitive place, that it has ladder integrity,” but it's unclear if these exclusive Tower rewards will even materialize. Diablo 4 Season 11, or whether they will be pushed further.
