Zagreus makes many new acquaintances on their way through the underworld, and when they learn their stories, his first instinct is almost always a way to help them. It is partly another act of rebellion towards his father, yes – but his actions come from a place of compassion and desire to help people he cares about.

Melinoë is also trying to help those he meets. Her kindness for animals appears several times during her story, in her interactions with her acquaintances and her meetings with Cerberus. He wants the intersection to be a safe refuge for anyone who needs it, and encourages Icarus and Moros to seek refuge there. The children of Hades will gain their stubbornness and sincerity from their father, but also inherited the key feature of Person: Kind and compassion.
