Dispatch Developer's Critical Role Game would feel incomplete without these 6 characters

Spoilers for Critical Roles 1-3, The Legend of Vox Machina and The Mighty Nein campaigns below.

It's no exaggeration to say that Send was a huge success. The popular title put AdHoc Studios on the map, proving that there is still a market for episodic adventure stories like those popularized by TellTale Games. This is great news for A critical rolewhich recently announced that it has partnered with AdHoc to break into the gaming industry. While Send could technically get more content in the future A critical role code game Project Exandriawill be the next release of AdHoc.

Little is known about it Project Exandria so far, except that it will be an episodic adventure like Sendand that it will not be a simple retelling of the campaign stories. While players will undoubtedly see some familiar characters and locations, it tells an entirely new story outside of the main campaign stories. However, this means that there will be some portraits – and if these six characters are somehow not in it, then it may not really look like a A critical role game.

Most players consider Dungeons and Dragons classes at low or max level, but how do these options compare when they enter level 3?

Allura – Arcana Panosophical Guide and Tal'dorei Councilor

Matt Mercer's NPC Avatar and Darling Quest-Giver

Lady Allura Vysoren is a particularly important figure in Exandrian lore. One of the most powerful magicians in Dungeons and Dragons Allura was a member of the Tal'dorei Council during all three campaign periods. What's more, while she was close to Vox Machina in Campaign 1, she also aided Mighty Nein in Campaign 2 and Bell's Hells in Campaign 3, making her one of the few characters to appear in all three campaigns.

Additionally, Allura is one of Matt Mercer's personal favorite NPCs. She was the first character in Exandria that he spent a long time developing, becoming his avatar in campaigns. She and Essek Thelyss are the two characters he would most likely play if Mercer wasn't DMing his Dungeons and Dragons games. Needless to say, Allura would be an amazing character to run into in a novel A critical role game, maybe even as a main ally like her in campaigns.

Shaun Gilmore – Owner of Gilmore's Glorious Goods

Look, Pumat Sol is incredible, and a portrait of a magician, his simulacra, or an invulnerable wanderer would be really beautiful. However, Shaun Gilmore, the amazing owner of Gilmore's Glorious Goods from A critical role Campaign 1 had a presence and charisma that would be absolutely incredible to see in a video game. Along with Allura, he is one of Vox Machina's original allies, but his numerous storefronts would make it easy for him to be a point of contact in Project Exandria. With wit, information, and magical items in equal measure, Gilmore would be a natural fit for an epic adventure game.

Vax'ildan – Assassin-Turned-Champion of the Raven Queen

Dagger, dagger, dagger

While all members of Vox Machina became important figures, few achieved the cosmological importance of Vax'ildan. At the end of Campaign 1, he became the Champion of the Ravens, an angelic servant of the Matron of Ravens, and at the end of Campaign 3, he was entrusted with his mistress' domains of fate and death until her new avatar came into her power.

For this reason, should Vax'ildan appear in A critical role video games, the timeline would be incredibly important. If it took place before Campaign 1, for example, he would still be a lowly member of the Clasp criminal organization, while if it took place later, his cameo would be much darker and more mysterious.

Artagan – Theater hating Lord of the Morncrown

Traveler. Garmelia. Keelyn. Devil Fey. The Scintillating One. Artagan has been known as many things throughout history, but the character of the trickster is most concerned with one thing: entertainment. After first appearing before Vox Machina in the Feywild during the first Dungeons and Dragons In the campaign, and due to Artagan's major role as a Traveler thanks to Jester Lavorra in Campaign 2 and the end of Campaign 3, he stands alongside Allura as one of the few characters to appear in all three of Exandria's main campaigns.

Like Allura, Artagan is also one of Mercer's favorite NPCs if he dressed up as him for Halloween 2020. He and Essek are also some of the main characters voiced by Mercer in The Legend of Vox Machina and The mighty Nein. As a mercurial and fickle fey, it wouldn't be hard for Artagan to appear in the game, especially if he sneezes in the direction of the silly antics he's known for.

Lavorre the Jester – High Priestess of the Traveler

Everyone's favorite Tiefling Trickster

Speaking of the Jester, the beloved troublemaker Tiefling would also make a perfect cameo. While this might be a hard sell if it took place outside of Nikodranas prior to campaign 2, her island upbringing made her legendary antics spread throughout the campaign across the seas as she sailed the seas with her recently married fjord. If it's too difficult to have the Jester himself appear, there are many ways she could be indirectly referenced. Portrait of d'Artagnan, members of the Traveler cult, her parents (Sea Ruby and Gentleman, who are both major social figures), or even just through the Tusk Love easter egg, a fictional Dungeons and Dragons– a romantic novel with a theme that became so prolific that A critical role actually made real, it would be all circular references to her. Either way, as one of the most popular characters in the series, Project Exandria he needs at least a nod to the Jester, even if he doesn't appear directly.

Scanlan Shorthalt – Exandria's most famous bard

Just too iconic to include

Vox Machina's famously infamous bard, Scanlan Shorthalt, is not only one of the funniest characters in the campaign, but also notoriously well-traveled. He wandered far and wide in Exandria, leaving power ballads and broken lovers in his wake. A prolific and well-loved character, it would be easy to slap on a poster or even a pub background as a cameo, but there are few things that could Project Exandria feel more like A critical role than the song sung by Sam Riegel.
