Restoration of the division takes Tom Clancy's non-stop action on mobile and players must choose a specialization before they can begin their career as SHD agents. This “class system” was first introduced in The Division 2 and is now present in the mobile version of the game.
To help players decide which of these specializations to choose, we've prepared a comprehensive guide to their abilities, perks, and playstyle. Take a look before you choose yours Restoration of the division.
What specialization should you choose in the revival of the division?
Restoration of the division kept the core mechanics of Specialization introduced in TD2, but slightly more simplified and adapted to Mobile. For starters, each specialization has its own “signature weapon”, but the main difference is that players can unlock new gadgets and signature weapons throughout the game, making them much more versatile than the PC/console version.
Each specialization has two distinct playstyles that are governed by two separate “skill trees” called Specialization Focus. So let's do a quick rundown of them to make sure players understand which one suits them best.
-
Vanguard: Weapon specialist, focused on long range damage, deploys scan pulse, buffs damage.
-
Field Medic: A healer specialist greatly contributes to party survivability and annoys enemies.
-
Rampart: The front line, able to deploy a tactical shield and cover your team members.
-
Demolitionist: An explosives expert, capable of dealing tons of AoE damage to enemies.
Each role in Restoration of the division is critical and a well-balanced party is necessary to take on the strongest enemies (bosses) that appear in the late game or, if you enjoy PvP action, to face off against Rogue Agents in the Dark Zone. But that's a story for another day; now let's look at the individual specializations and their abilities.
Players can try out all specializations using VR agent training program from the Game menu. Go try it out and see for yourself which specialization suits your taste best.

Vanguard
A weapons specialist, sniper and tactical fighter who prefers to stay in cover or use the terrain to pinpoint targets and take them out one by one.
|
Scan pulse |
Marks enemies and increases the damage they take and applies debuffs depending on focus. |
|
Smart cover |
Improves all nearby cover, provides damage reduction and other buffs depending on focus. |
|
Tactical Connection (Signature Ability) |
Provides increased critical chance and auto-aim for 12 seconds, players can spray and pray and all bullets will hit the target. |
Vanguards have two distinctive foci: Commando and Recon.
Commando focuses more on dealing damage and uses his signature ability to deal tons of critical damage with automatic weapons. It is ideal for solo players as it greatly increases damage and focuses on dealing with targets quickly.
Recon focuses more on precision damage and tactical support for the team, dealing more damage with his Signature Weapon sniper rifle, plus his abilities shift to providing other useful buffs such as movement speed, reload speed, and damage reduction.
Elden Ring: Best Overpowered Builds
These powerful OP builds will make adventuring and combat in the world of Elden Ring a walk in the local park.
Field medic
Able to heal the team and also deal poison damage to enemies in a large AoE. Deploys mini-drone hives to heal or deal damage depending on specialization focus. This is the ideal specialization for those who want to prioritize survival and cooperation above all else.
|
Chemical trap |
Releases a small detonation trap AoE that applies corrosive to enemies. |
|
Oxidizing hive |
Every time the player deals weapon damage, the micro-drone will fly to the target and apply a Corrosive DoT to it. |
|
Oxidation Swarm (Signature Ability) |
A swarm of microdrones flies towards enemies in a large AoE, dealing damage and applying corrosive to them. |
Field Medic has two main focuses:
Tactical Pharma, which specializes in applying Oxidation Swarms and Corrosion (Poison) to enemies. It's basically a combat branch that deals more damage to enemies than it heals allies. Ideal for leveling Field Medic in Solo PvE content.
Combat medicinewhich transforms most Field Medic abilities into powerful healing minidrones to keep the team alive. This is particularly effective in group play, but less effective in solo mode.
Wall
The Bulwark is a specialization that focuses on leading the team and getting close to the enemy front line with the deployable Phalanx Shield and Shockwave Spike tactical shield. This specialization's signature skill uses a shield and the RCS-12 shotgun for a powerful front-line attack.
|
Spike shockwave |
Marks enemies and increases the damage they take and applies debuffs depending on focus. |
|
Phalanx Shield |
Improves all nearby cover, provides damage reduction and other buffs depending on focus. |
|
Breach Combo (Signature Ability) |
Provides increased critical chance and auto-aim for 12 seconds, players can spray and pray and all bullets will hit the target. |
Demolition
Demolitionist is probably the strongest specialization for PvE. He combines great AoE control with targeted damage, and his Seeker Mine is the best thing for getting priority targets out of cover. This also works like a charm in PvP situations where players are heavily barricaded and holding a defensive position or blasting you into submission. In The Division Resurgence, the Seeker Mine is extremely hard to hit (unlike the game TD2 where his main flaw was being shootable) so Dark Zone Rogues think twice before facing the Demolitionist head on.
|
Mine Explosive Seeker Min |
Releases a small rolling mine that pinpoints nearby targets, rolls towards them, and explodes on contact. |
|
Artillery tower |
Deploys a mortar turret that will fire ammo at groups of enemies in three consecutive waves. Extremely strong in PvE. |
|
M32A1 grenade launcher. (Ability to sign) |
Deploys a grenade launcher to attack enemies. It can be fired six times before the ability enters a long cooldown, but deals massive damage to bosses and groups of enemies. |
Demolitionist has two specializations:
HE ammunition, which focuses on dealing damage with its upgraded ammo pods that deal massive damage to targets. This specialization also empowers the Signature weapon M32A1 Grenade Launcher.
field grenadier, which upgrades most of the Demolitionists' gadgets, including the Seeker Mine and Artillery Turret.
