The Dr. Stone the anime is in its final stages, and it certainly feels that way as the anime moves through the spring 2026 anime season. Almost all of Senku's human enemies, from Hyoga and Tsukasa Shishio to Kirisame and Stanley Snider, have either been gained as allies or locked in stone. With no immediate physical threat, Senku Ishigami finally gets what he wants: a true sandbox adventure where science and growth matter above all else.
This is the Stone Age life Senku dreamed of and he doesn't miss a minute of it, not with Ryusui and Dr. supporting him. Xeno. Episode 26 made it clear when Senku came aboard The new Perseus roam the globe in his spare time and the upcoming episode 27 should be more of the same. The upcoming episode “The Universe is Written in the Language of Mathematics” should turn all of this up to 11 as the Spanish tourism phase ends and Senku prepares to meet another scientist whose skills may rival his own.
The final pieces of the Kingdom of Science fall into place
Senku is almost done poaching the world's best talent
The relative lack of conflict is the dominant narrative at this stage Dr. Stone how the undisturbed joy of scientific discovery revels in the freedom she always wanted. Most often, Shonen Boaters are in constant danger until the very end when they defeat the forces of evil, such as Deku's final triumph over Tomura Shigaraki in My Hero Academia or Tanjiro defeated Muzan v Demon Slayerbut Dr. Stone works differently. In a broad sense, this is indeed a shonen action/adventure title where conflict, growth, and the power of friendship are the cornerstones, but Senku isn't trying to defeat the demon king.
This is why the last handful of episodes in Dr. Stone they are more of a business trip than a battle to save the world. It's true that the terrifying, passively antagonistic Why-Man still lingers on the moon out of Senko's reach, but that's not an immediate concern. Instead, Senku is doing what he always wanted to do: reviving people and giving them jobs in an era of peace and cooperation. To this point in Dr. StoneSenku's army of friends covered most of the required roles, such as craftsman Kaseki, bodyguard Tsukasa, and watchmaker Joel. So the next episode will fill in a mission-specific critical gap to wrap things up.
Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun gets Iruma's class fired up for an impossible challenge
Kerori's bold challenge pushes Iruma-kun's Abnormal Class to grow in new ways, setting the stage for an epic music festival showdown.
Senku's industrial base is almost complete, meaning he can demand even more from future recruits to the Kingdom of Science. Example: Shared mission of Senko and Dr. Xena to the moon. Blasting Earth's natural satellite is the challenge of a lifetime, no matter the century, and Senku needs more than watchmakers or cartographers to do it. So Senko's crew on board The new Perseus heads straight to India, a subcontinent that is home to some of the world's most advanced math programs. Who will be the mathematical genius is not yet certain, but for Senka's current needs, this person will be essential.
Science is firmly rooted in mathematics, though as a curious “wizard” of the Ishigami village in the days before Senko, Chrome was unfamiliar with it. Of course Senku and Dr. The Xeno are already pretty good with math, so if Senku needs a math expert on the team, that means a lot. It will most likely involve fields like rocket science, astrophysics and even computer science to make the moon landing a reality. The power of STEM reaches its peak right there in the jungles of India.

In the coming episodes, growth takes precedence over conflict
Senku's Adventure is more of a college course right now
In this era of Senku's adventures, Dr. Stone The anime has a very unusual story for a shonen anime: no one is fighting. Normally, that would mean the story has stopped, and that would certainly be the case with a title like this Jujutsu Kaisen or A man with a chainsaw. However, Dr. Stone it's only partially shonen action anime because it's also shonen adventure anime, focused more on the growth aspect of shonen than the conflict. Or at least the man-to-man conflicts ended because Senku and Dr. Xeno still faces the titanic conundrum of man versus nature.

Senku “fights” only in the sense that he undertakes an amazing mission that can take years to complete, even if it works as intended. Even for him, and even with Dr. Xen's help in Superalloy City, launching a rocket to the moon and landing is no small feat. The real tension is how and when Senku pulls off this meaningful narrative that doesn't need any male-on-male conflict. That's rare in shonen, this entire arc feels like a practice montage with no physical threats on the horizon. Episode 27 will be rooted in this reality, with the Kingdom of Science loaded with mathematical genius to fight someone like Minister Ibara, but simply build something this Stone Age has never seen.
