I fell from my pocket pokemon tcg. It was only natural that the initial hype died, but it has a point where I canceled my premium subscription and I am lucky to remember that I will open my two packs a day. Hold for a minute, leave me, all the Commons.
Somehow I was still able to get my hands on the absorbing artistic buzzing Ex – it's almost like the game attracted me back with big cards. I am above the initial excitement and refuse to spend more money on virtual cardboard, even if I can write it off on my taxes.
Eevee is Pokemon's Cash Cow
Pokemon Pocket has always been transparent about how your money apparently wants, but many players did not realize it first. The first main cry of monetization came when the glossy mewtwo was locked behind the premium pass. It's a wonderful card, but people were damaged that they would have to spend money to get it. What did you think the game was doing when it was launched with five different currencies and has since added another half a dozen?
When your spending is confused, it can be harder to watch exactly how many things cost. For example, ten cards of cards cost 120 packs of hour or 60 Poke gold. 60 Gold Cost … Well, it's complicated. In certain quantities you can buy only gold, none of which are equal to 60 needed to buy ten packages – the only number in which you can buy in bulk.
50 gold (plus seven for free, for some reason) costs 7.99 GBP, which is the price so intentionally focused on force you to buy you twice to open ten packages that force me to crouch. Yes, almost every gacha game does it. No, that doesn't mean it's okay. 100+20 gold costs 15.99 GBP, so we can develop costs. 16 pounds for 20 packages are about 80p and packaging. But you can see how intricate it is to solve it, and it only deteriorates when you buy gold in larger quantities to get better discounts.
But still, Tenner for Shiny Mewtwo is travesty! Free attack! Let me break it now: None of this is friendly to consumers. This game is specially designed to extract you as much money as possible. And the upcoming Eevee Grove extension is the epitome of this deliberate design.
What cards are available in Eevee Grove Pokemon Pocket?
Of course, this set revolves around Eeevee and its development. All eight Eveelutions will receive new cards and coach support to make all-eevee deck viable. Just look at the EEVEE EX ability – allows you to develop it on an eeveel card despite your ex status. Four Eevees, four development, you have the beginnings of your next deck outside the meta.
But they are not all sun and rainbow rares. For some reason, Eevee is one of the Pokemon mascots: Eevee Merch sells. Eevee cards are sold. Eevee, I don't know, the leg baths would probably be sold if they made them. After all, they literally sell Eevee Crockpot. Cynik would say that the introduction of Eevee's expansion into Pokemon Pocket is the biggest move that has been fighting the money that this game made money. That's me. I'm a cynic.
I will not be surprised whether it is a sign of a decline in the game, guess that sales are declining or something similar. We don't know. This has a sense of play where the primary goal is to earn money for the set, including the best selling monsters of the series. I am cynical, but I will not create some reasons why this step for “Dena wants money”.
And the problem is that players give him their money. I am glad that the game did not make Gen 2 in the first days, otherwise I may have failed. And let's face it, I could still. After all, I don't blame players for spending money on virtual cards – I did it before and I will probably be again. We haven't seen any alt art to expand Eevee Grove and I know that if I see a certain Jolteon, I will do everything in my power to hold it in my palm, the phone still warm from all Google Pay transactions.
Jolteon is my favorite pokemon, you see. It's not very original, but I was a 2 boy and loved Raikou. But even at the age of eight I did not want to choose the possibility of mainstream. Your favorite Pokémon is legendary? Lame. So I chose the nearest Pokémon for Raikou, which I could – Jolteon. So much less mainstream, Young Ben. Well done. Two decades and a change later and Jolteon became my real favorite. It accompanied me in every region and fortunately survived Dexita because of Eevee total marketability. And I gathered Jolteon's business cards to go along with my virtual pets.
I have the original Jolteon, Dark Jolteon, Light Jolteon, Jolteon Ex and Jolteon V., but it's the other one that has my favorite work of art. The Alt Art version, when Jolteon practically burst through the streets of the city center, is perfect. It's exactly how I imagined my partner Pokémon running beside me via Goldenrod City years ago.
If these works come to Pokemon Pocket, I'm lucky. Accounts? Unpaid. My wife's plans 30. Birthday? Deferred. We all go to Jolteon, boys.
Fortunately, I don't think it happens. Pokemon Pocket has not yet introduced the card in the card and I doubt it will start so soon after the show. And I think it will save this iconic work of art when Yes Introducing the cards in – which will eventually, just as things begin to feel musty and need another injection in cash. But if there is a new alt art jolteon, something from Asako Ito or, Heaven forbidden, Akira Egyw… Lord give me strength.
Before Eevee Grove, my advice is this for you: Plan a strict budget and stick to it. If you have enough spare money to spend $ 200 per week for this game, go for it. Go. But if you are just normal like me, which must be careful as they spend their spare pennies, think twice before pulling out the other ten packages with Poke Gold. Is it really how you want to spend money? On the next game that probably closes its servers before the decade delimits? If it's ok with you, go. But I'm having fun as a free player as I have ever spent money behind Pokemon Pocket. So spend caution. And mainly have fun.
