Elden Ring Movie Set Video Reportedly Leaking

Civil War director and 28 Years Later writer Alex Garland confirmed last year that he and A24 were working with Bandai Namco and FromSoftware on Elden Ring, with Cailee Spaeny, Kit Connor and Ben Whishaw in talks to star. Although we haven't heard about the project in the past few months, if leaks are to be believed, filming could begin soon.

TikTok user throxtv posted a video last night showing a set of Marika Church, presumably in the British countryside. The clip has since gone viral, garnering over 25,000 upvotes on the game's dedicated subreddit. But this clip is worth taking with a grain of salt.

AI has improved significantly over the past few years, to the point where it's getting harder and harder to pick out telltale signs. What raises red flags about this video is that there is no crew present on set and there are no reports of principal photography starting. Also, Throxtv didn't give a location or any other details, so that can't be verified.

Just recently, a Doctor Who “set leak” went viral showing the 8th Doctor returning alongside Billie Piper, but was shown to be an AI.

However, running the clip through various AI detection software shows promising results and technology at the same time has enhanced, if it were to be a forgery, it would be among the most impressive.

The alleged Elden Ring movie leak seems to confirm that it is set after the Shatter

So let's assume the set is leaking is real, it can confirm when the movie takes place – after Shattering. Some assumed (or hoped) that it would be a prequel based on George RR Martin's playwriting, showing what The Lands Between looked like before the Rani stole the Rune of Death fragment, but the ruined ruins of the Marika church seen in the clip suggest otherwise.

Aside from that detail, we can only speculate on what the film could be about, such as whether it's a direct adaptation of the game or a side story. Assuming the leak is real, filming could start soon, so perhaps we'll hear more in the coming months – especially if A24 is filming openly in the UK, as throxtv's alleged discovery suggests.

Whatever the case, if this leak isn't a hoax, it's a near 1:1 rendition of the iconic POI from the game, giving us a glimpse of just how authentic this adaptation is meant to be.
