Endgame Borderlands 4 has already run out of gas

Waiting for Borderlands 4 was long as the last major entry in the series was released in 2019. As the years went by, expectations Borderlands 4 continued to grow and 2025 finally brought a new offering in the beloved franchise. Despite the growing excitement, however Borderlands 4 still proved to be a divisive entry in the series.

Borderlands 4 it definitely has a lot of great features. Between an interesting story, more balanced humor, and a diverse lineup of Vault Hunters, Borderlands 4 it gets things right in a number of important ways, most notably the gameplay, which feels like a major improvement. However, when it comes to the end of the title, the lack of additional content after completing the main story is quickly felt.

Borderlands 4's endgame content leaves a lot to be desired, at least for now

is true Borderlands 4 it's only been out for a little over a month, so judging the end game offerings at this early stage in the lifecycle is incredibly difficult, as the feature could look very different by this time next year. The good news is that there are already confirmed plans for new content, with some set to arrive before the end of the year. Gearbox crashed before starting the game Borderlands 4The game's post-launch roadmap, so there's definitely new content on the way, but there's one particular method that could take this endgame to the next level in the meantime.

One of the biggest improvements that could be made until more content arrives is fixing World Events. Instead of making them random, it would be ideal to give players the ability to play these events whenever they want. World Events are one of the most frustrating parts of the game for me, as getting a chance to play feels more like a lottery and far from satisfying. It seems like it could be a pretty simple fix with a future update, but there are currently no known plans to rework World Events.

There are three major world events Borderlands 4: Order Airship, Goredello Event and Creeping Impact.

While the ending may have dried up for now, at least there's plenty more content just around the corner. Of course, the Horrors of Kairos event still leaves a lot to be desired, but the promise of Bounty Packs and the first Story Pack on the way is intriguing, to say the least.

There's always the possibility that this upcoming content could repeat the mistakes that Horrors of Kairos made by not being as rich as expected, but for now at least I'm keeping a positive mindset about the game's future. Bounty Pack 1: How Rush Saved Mercenary Day introduces a variety of skins, while the upcoming launch of Story Pack 1 can really kick things off.

Story Pack 1: Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned adds a fifth playable character, C4SH, a former casino robot turned drifter.

After past posts like Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3 actually received the post-market content; Borderlands 4 hopefully it will follow in the footsteps of these chapters. Right now, the schedule for the first few months of the game is an interesting preview of what's to come, but maintaining that pace will also be a big challenge.

If the first Border game did not include adding additional content to the endgame after launch, the franchise as a whole may not have grown into the series it is today. Content and activities at the end of the game give Border titles enough replayability, which ultimately extends its lifespan. A strong ending can really make or break a game's staying power, and only time will tell Borderlands 4 can successfully keep players engaged for the next few years.

Borderlands 4 players have until October 11th to redeem 3 more Shift Codes

Borderlands 4 it gets things right in a number of important ways, most notably the gameplay, which feels like a major improvement.

In the current state, Borderlands 4 it may not be full of robust endgame content, but that doesn't make it a bad game by any means. With its strong story and characters, it has a lot of great qualities, and I'm curious to see how Gearbox decides to delve deeper into its world as new content is added to the mix. It's important to remember that the game is still incredibly fresh, so there's plenty of time for it Borderlands 4 develop and become a stronger experience after your story. Players who beat the main story may be caught off guard at this point, but on the other hand, Gearbox has already teased what's in store for the game.
