As the fourth match in Dragon Age, Dragon Age: The Veilguard features a cast of new characters as well as some familiar faces from previous entries in the series. Some of these characters play major roles Dragon Age: The Veilguardlike Solas and Varric, but others are cameos that provide exposition and bridge the gap in certain narrative sections.
Like the world Dragon Age has expanded into media outside of video games such as comics and novels, some cameos Dragon Age: The Veilguard to include characters previously featured only in these other media. Varric
Varric plays a key role Dragon Age: The Veilguard as a friend and mentor to Rook, as well as the reason they are involved in stopping Solas' plans. As the connection between Solas and Rook, Varric becomes a sort of go-between.
Inquisitor

Scout Lace Harding
Harding returns from Dragon Age: Inquisition and is now a full companion in Rook's party. It gives some insight into her years working for the Inquisition, including comments on some of its members.
Heir
Perhaps the most obscure cameo Dragon Age: The VeilguardThe Heir appeared as an assassin specialization trainer for the Rogue Inquisitor in Dragon Age: Inquisition. It appears in Dragon Age: The Veilguard at the Cantori Diamond in Treviso as a coach for the Antivan Crows.
Valta
Shaper Valta is a dwarf from Orzammar who first appeared in Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC Descentwhere she gained magic from the Titan. Valta is indirectly present in Dragon Age: The Veilguardwhere her consciousness is present inside the stone figure she uses to communicate with Harding and the dwarves of Kal-Sharok.

Fellassan
Solas' most trusted general finally makes a visual appearance Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Felassan debuted in Dragon Age: The Masked Empire as Bria's mentor where he was killed at the end of the book by a mysterious figure who was revealed to be Solas. Felassan's depiction in Dragon Age: The Veilguard shows him as Solas' most trusted general during the rebellion against the Evanuris.
Valya
Valya first appeared in the book The last flight as a mage from Hossberg's circle of spells. During the Mage Rebellion, she defected to the Guardians and fled to Weisshaupt, where she discovered the journal of Issei's caretaker documenting her keeping a clutch of griffon eggs. Valya appears Dragon Age: The Veilguard during the Gloom Howler questline.
Issei
The main character The last flightIsseya makes an unexpected cameo during it Dragon Age: The Veilguardespecially since she lived four hundred years before the events of the game. Her portrait is linked to the reappearance of gryphons in Thedas.
Maevaris
Maevaris Tilani first appeared in the comic book series Dragon Age: Those Who Speak. Formerly a magister, she is now one of the leaders of the Shadow Dragons and Dorian's friend.
Isabela is one of the faction leaders for Lords of Fortune and can be found in Rivain. Isabela previously appeared in Dragon Age Originsappeared in several comics and was a companion in Dragon Age 2.
It serves a more prominent role in Dragon Age: The Veilguard as the faction leader is Myrna, one of the faction leaders for the Mourn Watch. Her first appearance in Dragon Age was in Tevinter Nights story Down among the dead men.
Teia and Viago also appear Tevinter Nights' short story Eight small clawsand reappear as faction representatives for the Antivan Crows.
Strife and Irelin, faction representatives for the Veil Jumpers, appeared in the game Tevinter Nights story Three trees to midnight and a comic Dragon Age: The Missing.
Evka and Antoine, faction representatives for the Gray Guardians, also appeared Tevinter Nights, Dragon Age: The Missing comic and short story I don't know when.
