Slay The Spire 2 is a Roguelite game where your main game is to first choose one of the characters and then go through a random path until you reach the end of the act and face the final boss. Each act has a final boss that you can see, but the path you take will be different each time.
One of the most interesting parts of this random function is that you can get a lot of events by specifying specific domains at runtime. These events can sometimes give you a boost to win the game, while other times they can completely ruin your run. That's why it's important to know each event properly before making a decision.
This article is a work in progress and we will add more events as we encounter them during our runs.
How to get events in Slay The Spire 2
If you look at the Slay The Spire 2 map, you'll notice only five room types aside from the boss room: Unknown, Merchant, Treasure, Rest, Enemy and Elite. There is no specific event room, which is mostly because many of these events can provide strong buffs and the game wouldn't give it to you without any risk.
So the only way to get events is to go to unknown domains. However, when you go to these domains, there is a chance that you can get any other room type well, except for the final boss room. You're basically rolling the dice, and if you're unlucky, you might have to fight your way through a strong elite.
If you get the Juzu Bracelet Relic during your runyou won't get normal enemy battle rooms in the Unknown domain.
In general, that event rooms have the highest chance of spawning whenever you enter an unknown domain.
Slay The Spire 2: Best Regent Buildings and Monuments
Here's everything you need to know about one of the best builds, The Regent, in Slay the Spire 2.
All the actions you can get
Slay The Spire 2 has a lot of events that you can randomly encounter in these rooms that can be quite overwhelming. So here is a a list of all the actions you can get and the best choice to make in them:
|
The name of the event |
Elections |
The best choice |
|---|---|---|
|
Amalgamator |
Remove 2 strokes and add a final stroke Remove 2 defenses and add perfect defense |
The first option is generally better here, since you'd want to remove Strike cards from the deck anyway this will allow you to have a better version while doing so. |
|
Battle Dummy |
Battle the dummy at different HP for different rewards |
During combat this dummy does not attack back but you have to beat him in three rounds for a reward. You should choose an option based on your build. |
|
Bugslayer |
Add Exterminate or Squash to your deck |
Here the choice depends on your design. If you'd rather have AoE damage, go for Exterminate, otherwise you can choose squash for better single target combat. |
|
Byrdonis Nest |
Gain 7 HP Max Take the Byrdonis Egg card |
If you are in the early run, taking the egg is undoubtedly the best option. You can hatch her on the landing have a summon with you in battle that can deal massive damage without using any energy. However, if you are heading to the end of the run and there are no rest areas on your way, then you can get the maximum HP boost for the final boss fight. |
|
Dense vegetation |
Remove the card in exchange for 11 HP Heal 19 HP but fight some enemies |
If you have some HP to spare, the first option is better here. |
|
A room for dolls |
Randomly choose a doll relic or lose some HP to choose one |
The the choice here is entirely yoursand it depends on how much HP you have to spare. |
|
An array of man-sized holes |
Remove 2 cards but add Normality to your deck Enchant any card with Perfect Hit |
Both options are pretty good, and you should decide based on your current deck and playstyle. |
|
Morphic Grove |
You lose 100 gold to turn 2 cards Gain a maximum of 5 HP |
In general, the second option is better here, because if you lose gold due to the transformation of cards, you can be unlucky and end up with worse cards than you started with. However, if you have less than 100 gold, you can try your luck with the first option. |
|
A room full of cheese |
Choose 2 of 8 cards You will lose 14 HP and gain the selected cheese |
If you are at the start of a run and have enough HP to spare, the second option is better for longevity. Otherwise, you can go to the first option. |
|
Sapphire seed |
Heal 9 HP and upgrade the card Enchant the card with Set |
The seeded effect gives you extra energy when you play an enchanted card for the first time in combat, which may be useful for certain builds. However, healing and buffing the card is generally a better option. |
|
A self-help book |
Enchant an attack card with Sharp 2 Enchant the skill card with Nimble 2 Enchant the Power card with Swift 2 |
The choice is entirely yours because each spell does different things. In general, you'll probably want to choose the Sharp or Nimble enchantment. |
|
Slippery bridge |
The card is removed from your deck Lose some HP to randomly split a drawn card |
The thing to remember about this event is that you must choose the first option regardless. Even if you lose HP due to random card selection, places a new card there. This means you can keep replaying the card you lose until you have suitable if you are ok with losing HP. |
|
A symbiote |
Enchant an attack card with Corrupted Transform the card |
The choice in this event depends on your game. If you're already trying to keep your HP upyou should select the transform option. However, if you already are experienced enough or playing certain buildsyou can get the Corrupted enchantment to create a broken card. |
|
Truth table |
If you want to upgrade a random card, you will lose a maximum of 3 HP Heal 20 HP |
Unless you're super short, the first option is generally the better one since then allows you to complete a rest action for a bit of your max HP. |
|
The legends were true |
Get a map You lose HP and get a random potion |
In this case, the first option is almost always the better optioneven if it adds an unnecessary card to your deck. |
|
Sunken statue |
Get the Stone Sword Get 115 gold in exchange for 7 HP |
If you think you can beat five elites in this run, then it's Sword of Stone a much better option. Although this is not possible in most of your early games. |
|
Process |
Add regret to your deck Add guilt to your deck |
This event gives you less rewards for picking Shame, but it's also a better choice for a long run because gives you Frail instead of losing HP. However, you should get to the merchant as soon as possible and remove this card from the deck. If the merchant is nearby, you can also choose Regret to get better rewards. |
|
This or that? |
You lose 6 HP and gain 48 gold Add Clumsy and get a random relic |
The second option is undoubtedly more advantageous for this event A relic can be much more expensive than 48 gold. |
|
Source |
Get a random potion Remove one card and gain guilt for 5 fights |
Vinen is just an unplayable card that takes up deck and hand space during combat, but that's about it it's worth exchanging for removing the card if you have a problem card in your deck. |
|
Whispering Hollow |
You lose 50 gold and get 2 random potions Lose 9 HP to transform a card |
Since card transformation is very RNG based, you should mostly always go with the first option here unless you're full of potions. |
