Every Monthly Game Added To PS Plus

Sony launched the new era of PlayStation Plus in June 2022, combining the previous version with PS Now. Although the latter subscription service was around for a long time, PS Now struggled to get over its early negative reputation, so a revamp was needed to wipe the slate clean.

PS Plus is split into three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium. Essential unlocks PlayStation’s online features along with providing a couple of free monthly games. Along with Essential’s offerings, Extra grants access to hundreds of PS5 and PS4 games; meanwhile, Premium extends the lineup to include older consoles. Each month, Sony adds a bunch of new PS Plus games to each tier, including first-party PS5 exclusives, third-party juggernauts, PS VR2 games, and indie darlings. Some months are better than others, but they all tend to include a couple of standouts. What are all the monthly games that have been added to PS Plus?

Updated February 27, 2025 by Mark Sammut: The PS Plus Essential games for March have been revealed. They will be available from March 4, 2025.

Best Games On PlayStation Plus Extra & Premium

PS Plus Extra and Premium have some of the greatest PlayStation games from across the console brand’s history, and here are the best of the best.

Free Games PS Plus Essential: March 2025

Dragon Age: The Veilguard (PS5), Sonic Colors: Ultimate (PS4), & Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection (PS5/PS4)

In a shocking reveal, the headlining free PS Plus Essential game for March 2025 is Dragon Age: The Veilguard. BioWare’s latest RPG only debuted at the end of October 2024, garnering a mostly positive critical reception but also a divisive response from players. Regardless of somebody’s opinion on the game, The Veilguard is a massive get for PS Plus, and its polarizing nature arguably makes it the perfect project for the service. Plenty of people are likely curious about the game but held off due to its mixed reputation. Now, as long as they have a basic PS Plus subscription, they can try The Veilguard without having to invest direct cash.

The month’s other two titles have their positives, although they are certainly “smaller” than The Veilguard. Sonic Colors: Ultimate is the definitive version of one of the franchise’s best 3D entries. The 2021 game’s launch state was not great, but quite a few of the issues were fixed through post-release patches. At this point, Sonic Colors: Ultimate can be played through without too many issues.

Finally, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection contains 13 classic games, including beat ’em up greats like Turtles in Time and The Manhattan Project. Now, all the included titles debuted between 1989 and 1994, and they certainly show their ages. However, quite a few of them are still fun to play, and the compilation works well as a celebration of TMNT‘s gaming legacy.

Best Single-Player PS5 Games, Ranked

The best single-player games on the PlayStation 5 are typically narrative-driven affairs, built around compelling characters and fantastic storylines.

  • 1-Month Price: $14.99
  • 3-Month Price: $39.99
  • 12-Month Price: $134.99

PS Plus Extra includes a catalog featuring hundreds of games. Extra focuses exclusively on PS5 and PS4 titles, and each month expands the existing library with roughly 10 to 20 new additions. Unlike Essential, PS Plus Extra’s games are available indefinitely, although some could be removed after spending a few months on the service.

Due to being announced during the State of Play event, February 2025’s PS Plus Extra game lineup was somewhat overshadowed by all the reveals and trailers. Still, the announcement included a relatively strong selection of titles, including a Day One arrival. Don’t Nod’s Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 1 is that project, and its successor will also launch directly in April 2025 on PS Plus Extra. Known for its character-driven games, the developer has a pretty impressive resume, and the 2025 two-part project should offer more of the same. The story takes place over two timelines, the first set in 1995 and the second more than two decades later.

As exciting as Day One arrivals are, Lost Records is arguably not February 2025’s biggest PS Plus game, as that honor goes to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Despite garnering some valid criticisms, Respawn’s 2023 release is, overall, an impressive sequel and exploration of the license. The game utilizes Soulslike combat, albeit not quite as challenging as some of the hardest entries in that genre. Beyond that, players get to explore a few worlds that utilize a Metroidvania structure.

The rest of the lineup consists of good but niche titles. TopSpin 2K25 is probably the best tennis game of the last decade, and SaGa Frontier Remastered is a complex JRPG that could help introduce people to Square Enix’s franchise. Tin Hearts should be great for puzzle fans, and Somerville has a pretty interesting story. Finally, Mordhau is a popular Medieval multiplayer game that is known for being fairly difficult, at least for newcomers.

Best PS5 Games On PlayStation Plus Extra & Premium

Sony’s PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers have hundreds of titles, including some of the best PlayStation 5 games.

All Classic Games That Were Added To PS Plus Premium

Current Month: February 2025 PS Plus Premium (Starting From February 18)

  • 1-Month Price: $17.99/month
  • 3-Month Price: $49.99
  • 12-Month Price: $159.99

PS Plus Premium includes everything available on Sony’s service. Along with Essential and Extra’s games and benefits, this tier includes a classic catalog of PS3, PS2, PS1, and PSP games, along with some PS4 remasters. Premium’s monthly additions have been inconsistent so far, and it is not unusual for a month to go by with barely any classic additions to the tier.

Although most lineups contain only a handful of classics, PS Plus Premium has been steadily enhancing its old-school library, particularly when it comes to PSP and PS1 releases. The games might not all be bona fide masterpieces, but the selection covers both well-known and obscure properties. Starting in June 2024, Sony began to add PS VR2 games to PS Plus Premium.

The February 2025 PS Plus Premium lineup is not too packed with goodies, but the selected projects are fine enough additions in their own right. Patapon 3 is arguably the headline act for the tier, even if the PSP rhythm game is fairly niche by most standards. Still, these types of titles should be made as accessible as possible, just to save them from a lifetime of obscurity. The same can be said for Dropship: United Peace Force, a combat sim from 2002.

The first three Armored Core games have also been confirmed for PS Plus Premium. However, their debut dates have not been announced.
