Fans Donkey Kong Bananza think they have finally come to the timeline

Now that Donkey Kong Bananza is finally in our destructive hands, fans think they have figured out what is happening to the timeline and why Pauline is so young.

You wouldn't think that the new 3D platform with Donkey Kong would cause any confusion at all, but this was not the case with Bananza. Not only did the fans were confused, that we did not receive the obvious sequel to Super Mario Odyssey, but also scratched their heads in the presumed changes in the canon.

Spoilers for the end of Donkey Kong Bananza follow, like some interesting Easter eggs and potential drops of tradition.

The joy of breaking and destroyability in Ogkey Kong Bananza reflects a beloved licensed game from the past.

Although all players of the game seem to be not aging and even refer to older games in the series, the confusion comes from the integration of Pauline, which is thirteen -year -old in Bananze. This is strange because we last saw it as an adult mayor in Odyssey, and it was even proposed that she was already from the original game Donkey Kong Arcade.

All these facts seemed to indicate that something strange was happening with the Bananza story and that we could get a confirmation in the game itself. But this is not really, because it is never explicitly stated why Pauline is so young and whether it is a story about traveling species.

This leaves us some interesting theories about all of this, with my favorite and most respected originating from the editors of Theheavyclaw on Subredit Donkey Kong. They suggest that Bananz's story supports the theory that there are several different generations of Mario and Donkey Kong.

The first is, of course, Cranky Kong, which in the past was confirmed as the original DK. The theory suggests that Lady and Jumpman are actually grandparents of contemporary Mario and Pauline, because Young Pauline is constantly talking about his grandmother in Bananze and Lady's subjects can be found as collectible items from “Days away”.

The only part of the theory that is a bit confusing is everything that is concerned, because Nintendo seems to be adamant, that it is the original jump and somehow since Cranky Kong has somehow aged. But with Mario, who shows us his father, Nintendo could have released this rule a little, so he's not too attractive.

Overall, all theories I see so far suggest that Bananza is a harbinger of Odyssey and that most DK games are taking place in front of some of those Mario. Of course, this means that Nintendo even takes care of Mario's timeline and that it matters at all, but it did not prevent fans from inventing it themselves.
