One of the most iconic parts Persona the games are Social Links and Confidants, each of which correlates to a major tarot arcana. While Metaphor: ReFantazio inherits a similar system with Follower mechanics, discards Persona Tarot series theme for these characters. However, many characters in Metaphor: ReFantazio they still fit into the archetypes of the major arcana—though some more than others.
Every social link or confidant in Persona the series tends to have an arc that follows the qualities associated with their respective arcana. Metaphor: ReFantazioon the other hand, it doesn't follow these types of arcs quite as well as Persona given that these characters are not set in the context of the major arcana, but there are some clear parallels to the themes that Atlus uses in their games.

Gallica – Magician
Players get the first follower MetaphorGallica makes the most sense as an Arcana wizard, as these characters tend to be idealistic and usually serve as the protagonist's closest companion. Prominent magicians in Persona series includes Personality 3is Kenji Tomochika, Personality 4is Yosuke Hanamura and Person 5it's Morgana. Gallica is even more suited to the Wizard arcana, as it grants players the Mage archetype.
Strohl – Justice
IN PersonaThe Justice Arcana tends to involve issues of justice and equality, with its representatives usually having some sort of struggle with their parents. MetaphorStrohl best represents this arcana given his passion for rebuilding his village after it was destroyed by a human attack, and seeks revenge on the church for failing to protect the city. He also lost his parents in the attack, mirroring the loss of a parent seen in Personality 4is Nanako Dojima or Person 5is Goro Akechi.
Hulkenberg – Car
Hulkenberg best represents the Chariot Arcana, as these characters tend to be very energetic, athletic individuals, and Hulkenberg's status as a Royal Knight demonstrates these qualities. However, the Chariot Arcana also tends to struggle with its own perceived weakness or failure, much like Personality 3is Kazushi Miyamoto or Person 5Ryuji Sakamoto and Hulkenberg's shame after failing to protect the prince from Louis' attack fits that criteria.
Heismay – the hanged man
The Hanged Man Arcana characters are usually classified by their inability to move forward or hold back for one reason or another, often due to grief or loss. Personality 3is Maiko Oohashi and Personality 4Naoki Konishi exemplifies this trait as well Metaphor: ReFantazio's Heismay, with his grief over the loss of his son causing him to be unable to forgive himself and move on.
Junah – Star
Junah is best represented by the Star Arcana as a character who radiates joy and hope through her celebrity as a singer known throughout Euchronia. However, like other Star Arcana characters like Personality 3is Mamoru Hayase and Person 5Junah, Hifumi Togo, hides his side from the public out of embarrassment, trying to find a balance between his true nature and his fans' expectations.
Eupha – High Priestess
As a follower who is herself a priestess of the mustari tribe, it follows that Eupha would be best represented by High Priestess Arcana. But beyond this simple relationship, Eupha also embodies many of the traits that Arcana High Priestess characters are known for, such as compassion and leadership, imparting her wisdom and judgment to help the party, e.g. Personality 3Fuuka Yamagishi and Person 5Makoto Niijima are famous.
Basilio – Tower
The Tower is perhaps the most tragic of the Major Arcana, and Basilio fits the features of the Tower better than any other character Metaphor: ReFantazio. Tower Arcana characters are usually distrustful of the protagonist and carry the weight of a difficult past, often caused by their own self-destructive tendencies such as Personality 3's Mutatsu or Personality 4is Shu Nakajima. Basilio's suspicion of the party before his brother's death shows how his development follows the traditional tower arch.

Neuras – Hermit
Neuras is the eccentric pilot and engineer of the Gauntlet Runner party, and his tendency to prefer the company of his machine over that of others makes him a clear heir to the Hermit Arcana. These characters tend to hide from the public eye and prefer to support the party from afar, such as Personality 3Isako Toriumi a Person 5is Futaba Sakura.
Maria – The Sun
Solar arcana v Persona the series tends to feature characters who carry hope in the face of dire circumstances, represented by characters such as Personality 3's Akinari Kamiki and Personality 4is Yumi Ozawa. Maria's struggles with feeling worthless or burdened after the death of her father Grius form the basis of her growth into a beacon of hope after she finds the support of Fabienne and the protagonist to lift her up.
Bardon – The Hierophant
While the Hierophant Arcana is typically represented by parental figures in Persona series, with notable examples Personality 4is Ryotaro Dojima and Person 5is Sojiro Sakura. IN MetaphorBardon doesn't quite fit in with these other characters, but he has a similar fatherly presence in the town of Martira after he swears to protect the children of the village after the party disrupts Joanna's child kidnapping ring.
Catherina – Strength
Catherine's main interaction with the player throughout Metaphor: ReFantazio is that he challenges the party to battle in an attempt to prove his superior power over them and his right to the throne. Like other Strength Arcana characters such as Personality 3is Yuko Nishiwaki and Personality 4Catherina, Daisuke Nagase, masks her insecurities about her competence with her desire to prove herself in physical combat.
Alonzo – The Devil
Traditionally, the Devil Arcana has been represented by individuals who are selfish or self-righteous, such as Personality 3is Tanaka or Person 5is Ichiko Ohya. Alonzo shares similar characters Metaphorbut he uses his tricks and devilish ways as a means of revenge against the greedy landlord who destroyed his hometown and killed his mother in a subversion of the usual devil tropes.
Brigitta – Fortune
Brigitte's status as a trader with the Sanctist Church leaves her vulnerable to the organization's pressures on her, resulting in the kidnapping of her beloved dog as a ruse to bring her wrath upon an innocent village. The Fortune Arcana tends to be illustrated by characters who are considered successful but are open to manipulation by outside forces such as Personality 3's Keisuke Hiraga and Person 5is Chihaya Mifune.
More – Judgment
The mysterious More who resides in the Academy and fulfills the role PersonaIgor is usually best represented by the Judgment Arcana. These characters often have a broader knowledge of the world as Person 5Sae Niijima and More's knowledge of utopia in his novel demonstrates this improved worldview.
