Fortnite Leaker Shiina Denies Retirement Rumors

Fortnite leaks hardly count as leaks. Unlike the Nintendo Switch 2 leaks where you can be sure the company is unleashing its lawyers, Epic Games doesn't seem to care about its leaks. In fact, Epic seems to have treated these network code leaks as free marketing. You don't need to spend money and effort promoting a new character if an army of “leakers” is already doing it for you.

There is nothing better than a vocaloid and a kaiju living together in harmony.

One such source is Shiina, who reliably keeps fans informed of what's going on in Fortnite and what new additions or characters we can expect. In fact, Shiina is now even an Epic Games partner. However, there have been rumors that the leaker is about to retire. In fact, someone claiming to be them on the Discord channel even wrote a heartfelt goodbye. However, Shiina refuted these rumours.

Shiina is not retiring

The rumors started when someone shared a screenshot of a Discord channel on Twitter where someone seemingly claiming to be Shiina confirmed that she was retiring. They wrote a rather lengthy note, saying that one of the reasons is that they “feel it is time for me to move on. The decision was not easy, but I believe it is necessary for my growth and well-being.”

“What started as a fun way to share updates and discoveries with others has turned into a race to see who can write first,” the alleged Discord message continued. “The pressure to stay ahead of the game has made it feel less like a hobby and more like a constant grind. That grind has worn off and I'm no longer finding the joy I once did in this space.”

However, the post was followed by a community note on Twitter mentioning that Shiina is not retiring. Leak denied these rumors on his professional and personal Twitter handles.

There's no word on how this rumor got off the ground, or who the person was who wrote the goodbye message on Discord. However, Shiina is here to stay and even claims that she will be “my new main fr for the next few weeks”.
