Exploring the world Lushfoil

Q. Lushfoil Photography SIM It contains unique maps, from the harsh trail in Iceland to an abandoned village in China. What attracted you to these different places?

AND: In the years 2019-2020 I traveled a lot and some of the places I visited had a significant impact on me, which eventually led me to their digitally created them again. When working in Unreal Engine, I would often use my travel photographs as a reference. I tried to choose photos that would give the game a lot of visual diversity, so that no environment feels just like others.

Q: How accurate are the display of each area? Can players visit these places to compare maps in the game with their counterparts in real life?

AND: Yes, absolutely! I encourage players to go and look for these places in real life and enjoy beauty for themselves. I think your experience will be increased when playing the game first. Obviously, some freedoms are taken with the game version. For example, some paths were shortened, but I tried to keep everything else more authentic.

Question: In addition to hiking, players can use ships, bikes and drones to explore these maps. Are there any rewards for using these methods to explore (except that you are fun), and have you considered some other ways to go through maps?

AND: The main idea is to offer more ways to experiment with eager photographers to experiment with their photograph and have a fun way to do while doing it. However, there are also gaming incentives associated with these items, such as using a ship to achieve a new coast or by a drone to complete the goals of photos that were not otherwise possible. I would not take into account other ways of traveling if they were not tied to one of the environment in a specific/satisfactory way.

The positives of being a solo developer

Question: As a solo developer, it had to be a lot of hard work in the last few years, but do you feel that there are also benefits?

AND: The main advantage of the work itself is that it is easier to maintain a consistent vision. Everything in the game can be very intentionally designed, everything to suit the same purpose. I hope people can get it while playing.

Q: Which of the maps is your favorite and why?

AND: The last one, Shengshan Island. The map was the last I created, so I believe my skills of the Environmental Artist were at their peak. Shengshan Island has a very different secular feeling and pairing with a high level of a specific soundtrack really emphasized the whole experience.

QUESTION: Maps are very oriented to nature with some signs of human life. Are there any other places that you would like to explore in the future? Are you interested in a more developed area like the city?

AND: Nature and densely wooded landscape are definitely my niche. Learning how to make cities would certainly be a challenge, and smaller is against the concept/theme of Lushfoil and the idea of exploring itself. But I do not rule anything in the future.

Using cameras

QUESTION: Using DSLR in real life requires a lot of accurate button pressing. Have you faced challenges when mapping camera functions on keyboard and drivers?

AND: Not separately. Someone mentioned the idea of engaging the camera as a usable game controller, which would be amazing, but it doesn't seem to be possible at the moment.

Question: Each map contains hidden secrets and unlockable objects such as older cameras. What made you include them and how does it differ from a standard camera?

AND: Mostly for nostalgia! I really enjoyed buying camera equipment for “research” and tried to re -create effects from older cameras. They are only there as a reconnaissance motivation and hopefully players will feel nostalgia.

Q: Do you feel that there could be educational or even therapeutic aspects for this game? Could it be used to teach photography, recognition of nature, etc.?

AND: Yes both! I included the abundance of teaching material that helps those who are not familiar with cameras will find their position. The soundtrack is also a curator to evoke a sense of peace, and I hope players can enjoy the change of pace.

Question: Is there a dedicated place to recommend to share images with other players?

AND: Social media would be this place! I always go through Twitter, blues and Instagram. I like to look at the photos that people have taken. Most of them are honestly better than what I could take.
