Genshin Impact reveals second half banners for version 6.2

Genshin Impact has officially revealed the event banners for the second half of 6.2, as Gaming, Chevreuse, and Iansan join Xilonen and Vares in a stacked replay lineup. WITH Genshin Impact After entering the second phase of version 6.2, there is more and more excitement in its community: a new map expansion for Nod-Krai is on the way, bringing with it Columbine. As the region's equivalent of the Archons, Columbina is expected to elevate the characters of Nod-Krai to a whole new level.

However, before Columbina can debut in Genshin Impactseveral important replays await you. Chief among them are Varesa and Xilonen. As a character, Varesa established herself as a dedicated Electro hypercarry for the Plunging Attack playstyle. He is one of the strongest damage dealers in the entire game and has a flexible selection of teammates to choose from – either for Aggravate or Overload builds. On the other hand, Xilonen remains one of the best support characters Genshin Impactan almost universal option for a wide variety of hypercarriers.

Genshin Impact: Second Half Banner Characters for version 6.2

Varese – 5-star electrocatalyst

Xylonene – 5 Star Geo Sword

Playing – 4 Star Pyro Claymore

Chevreuse – 4 star Pyro Polearm

Iansan – 4-star electropolarm

Both Genshin Impact characters will appear as a banner during the latter half of 6.2, but the real value is likely to be 4 stars. Xilonen and Varesa will be paired with Gaming, Chevreuse and Iansan. Play remains a powerful Pyro hypercarry despite being a 4-star character whose skill set scales extremely well with Constellations. Chevreuse is a premium pick for Overload teams that provides a major Elemental Reaction buff in addition to a healer role. Finally, Iansan can best be described as a reverse Bennett – it provides a flat ATK buff that changes with movement rather than limiting it, making Iansan ideal for hypercarriers who can't stand still like Varesa, Xiao, Clorinde or even Gaming himself.

Taking this into account, as of version 6.2 players can create a budget overload team (Gaming, Chevreuse, Iansan, Fischl) using only his banner characters and the free Hexerei summon obtained by completing the witch homework tutorial in Genshin Impact. While veteran accounts have no doubt already established their primary teams, this patch is a great entry point for newcomers who may want to try the Overload playstyle.

However, there is one very important point to consider: the upcoming event banners in 6.3 and the lack of Primogems in 6.2. With the limited number of entwined wishes granted by both 6.1 and 6.2, most players will have to choose: take the opportunity to stock up on some of the best 4-star characters in Genshin Impactor save their draws for Columbine (and possibly Zibai). Recently obtained information points to Columbina and Neuvillette as the main representatives of the first half of version 6.3, with Zibai and Ineffa in the second half.

For players who are in love with Lunar Reactions and Nod-Krai characters, Event Banners in version 6.2 is a must-skip. Conversely, players who prefer the new Hexerei system should refrain from spending their Primogems during 6.3, as 6.4 is expected to feature Varka and Lohen – both Knights of Favonius characters, with the latter being a new Standard Banner character in Genshin Impact.

Event banners for the second phase premiere on December 23, 2025 and will run until the release of version 6.3. A fun detail to note is that Varesa's repeat banner is identical to her debut banner, featuring the exact same trio of 4-star characters. Like the players who gravitated to Varesa Genshin Impact during version 5.5 it may not get as much value a second time. Version 6.3 is expected to launch on January 14, 2026.
