Genshin Impact comes with ten five stars across all available banners in version 6.4, with Varka debuting as Anemo Claymore. While version 6.4 lacks both the map expansion and Archon Quest, Genshin Impact will feature some important replays during the upcoming update. Between these reruns, Varka will also join the playable cast, offering an ability set centered around Swirl, complete with fancy dual-wielding animations.
Players who are interested in giving Varka Genshin Impact while trying to keep in mind that his team building has some notable requirements. To maximize the potential of his ability set, it is recommended to pair Varka with one Anemo teammate and two teammates from the same element (Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo). As of 6.4, he's expected to fall behind most Lunar Reaction teams, but many fans believe his best support characters are yet to come – like Nicole and possibly Lohen.
Genshin Impact introduces new characters and returns to Mondstadt in version 6.4
Genshin Impact returns to Mondstadt in a big way with version 6.4, which marks the playable debut of Varka and introduces the new Favonius Knight.
Genshin Impact: Banner Characters in Version 6.4 (Event and Record)
The event banners for version 6.4 were known beforehand due to data mining, but were officially confirmed during the special program announcement on February 13, 2026. To everyone's surprise, version 6.4 will also see the return of the Chronicled Banner on Genshin Impact for Mondstadt characters, bringing the number of featured 5 stars to ten in version 6.4. The first half of the update will feature Varka and Flins, while the second half will feature Skirk and Escoffier on event banners. The Chronicled Banner will run for the first half, featuring Klee, Albedo, Eula, Jean, Diluc, and Mona.

Players not interested in pulling for Varka in 6.4 have a few options to consider. Those who build the Lunar Reaction team Genshin Impact will undoubtedly benefit from having Flins on their roster, while Escoffier and Skirk form the strongest possible core of Freeze teams in the current meta. In terms of raw value, fresh Genshin Impact Bills get the most from bringing Escoffier, as she remains one of the strongest support characters in the game – even if she's limited to Hydro and Cryo.
However, there is also a Chronicled Banner. While some of its five stars, like Diluc and Eula, struggled to find their place in the game's modern era, Klee, Mona, and Albedo all found new life thanks to the Hexerei enthusiasts introduced Genshin Impact in version 6.4. For example, Albedo scales particularly well with Constellations and is a great teammate for Durin's Burgeon and Geo teams, while Mona forms a strong core with Furina for Varka's Hydro teams.
The success of the Hexerei feature caused many Genshin Impact fans to ask the developers to improve Mondstadt's other characters, but version 6.4 isn't going in that direction just yet. Version 6.4 offers a limited number of Primogems, and as such, Eula, Diluc, and Jean should be considered luxury picks. While HoYovere has not reported any 4 stars Genshin Impact characters for version 6.4, players will be able to obtain any 4-star Mondstadt through the Chronicled Banner.
As for future content in Genshin ImpactDornman Port and Lohen are expected to come out within the next two updates, greatly expanding Mondstadt's lore, while Nod-Krai fans can look forward to 5-star Geo-Crystallize support in version 5.5 with Linnea. It remains to be seen if Genshin Impact will continue to add more Hexerei characters, but both Lohen and Nicole are expected to be part of the feature. Version 6.4 is scheduled to launch on February 25, 2026, with the first phase of its banners lasting until March 17, 2026, while the second phase will continue until April 7, 2026.
