Helldivers 2 Leak Teases New Enemy Types

New Helldivers 2 the leak teased the return of the Cyborgs in a future update. The Cyborgs were the enemy faction featured in the original Helldiversbut they haven't appeared in the sequel yet. However, they seem to be in development now for the time to come Helldivers 2 update.

The Cyborgs were one of three enemy factions that players could fight against in the first Helldivers game. For all intents and purposes, they were replaced by robotic Automatons in the sequel, with Arrowhead Game Studios choosing to refresh them with factions in Helldivers 2. In-universe, it was explained that the Automatons were the creation of the Cyborgs to continue the fight against Super Earth and free the Cyborgs from enslavement on Cyberstan. As a result, the shadow of the cyborgs appeared Helldivers 2although there has been no confirmation from the developer that there are any plans for their return.

Helldivers 2 Leak Teases Return of the Cyborgs

On the HelldiversLeaks subreddit, leaker AsunderKnight has shared several render leaks about the game's in-development content. Several new types of enemies are introduced, including male and female variants Helldivers Cyborg from the original game. Each of them also have armored versions, suggesting that they will be a formidable foe for players in the future. Another thread on the HelldiversUnfiltered subreddit shared even more images from the Cyborg leak, showing some of the animations in action on the models. There are plenty of other structural models that some speculate could be related to the potential addition of Cyberstan in the future. It would make sense for Cyberstan to return alongside the Cyborgs as the two go hand in hand Helldivers tradition. Some wondered if Arrowhead was making the Cyborgs their own faction or simply adding them as new enemy types for the Automata.

As usual, it's important to take everything Helldivers 2 leaks with reserve. While they confirm that this content was in the works at some point, there is no guarantee that it will make it into the final game. And while it would be a surprise to see an entire returning faction scrapped before release, it wouldn't be impossible. For example, a few months ago a ship was customized Helldivers 2 has been leaked, but so far nothing has come of it. It's great to be excited about leaks like this, of course, but it's equally important not to take them as gospel until Arrowhead Game Studios confirms Cyborgs for themselves.

Arrowhead has largely spent the last few months in production Helldivers 2 more stable experience for players. After a long period of content updates, the game started experiencing major performance issues, with the file size on PC growing to nearly 150GB, despite being a fraction of the size on other platforms. However, now the game seems to be in a much better place, which leads to hope that it is Helldivers 2 they can continue to add substantial new content throughout 2026. There is little missing from the schedule so far, so players will just have to wait and see what Arrowhead Game Studios has planned for next year. Cyborg would certainly be a great addition, especially for those familiar with them from the original game. There are currently no plans Helldivers 3so players don't have to worry about support for the second game slowing down soon.
