ARC Raiders it hides many stories told in the background, with cryptic clues scattered throughout the devastated Topside and the nooks and crannies of the underground Tubes.
If players want to know what happened to the world, where the story takes place, and who is leading the mysterious ARC enemies trying to conquer the world, here are five Hidden details in ARC Raiders world building they probably passed.
One of the first clues is in the tutorial and you probably missed it
A small detail that reveals the bigger picture
As soon as players create their first characters, they'll be introduced to a tutorial map where they can try out the opening quest, which consists of hunting for loot and surviving an onslaught of enemy raiders (something that prepares them to survive the merciless ARC Raiders PvP). All this happens in an area around a certain named place Pizzeria Petrarca. The name was taken from an existing pizzeria located in a town north of Bologna, Italy, and this sets the coordinates of the destroyed Earth scenario to Europe and Italy itself.
The raider was apparently fleeing from the northern zone of Italy to the coast, or at least that's what this single clue leads one to believe. Over the course of the game, players will begin to recognize names such as Toledo Piazza, the buried city of Marano (north of Naples), and even glimpses of important landmarks such as the glass domes of the Naples Metro Station (opening menu screen). While this in itself is not of much importance, there are many other details left that will reveal other important facts about the world ARC Raidersso stick around and collect the pieces of this puzzle.
The geography of the Rust Belt points to a specific location
No wonder everything sounded so familiar
Action in ARC Raiders takes place in a place called “Rust Belt,” a mountain range tainted by the devastation left behind by a horrific climate debacle. The ruins of civilization before collapse they are full of little tidbits of information about what happened here. Some are right there in sight, with the overall map of the Rust Belt being extremely mountain-like near Acerra, Italy. However, the fact that the geography has changed slightly is probably due to sea level rise Vesuvius is clearly visible (Volcano Rise) near the coast and there are traces of a huge eruption as well Volcanic rocks scattered throughout the Dam Battlegrounds scenario, they speak of a devastating eruption that destroyed the landscape before the ARC enemies invaded.
From the swamps of the Dam battlefields to the Acerra spaceport, it is abundantly clear that the survivors have settled beneath the ruins of this ancient land. If players pay attention, even the weapon names are in Italian. For example: 'Ferro' means iron and also the Italian noun for 'Pistol,' not to mention Burletta pistol, which is a clear reference to Beretta gun brands that are Italian made. To top it off, the location of the main base of operations is named speranza, which is hope in italian.
Civilization flourished before collapse
Traces of technology witness a prosperous era before the end of civilization
Some world building details ARC Raiders also reveal the undeniable truth: Humanity was about to hit a golden age of space exploration when an environmental crisis struck, destroying civilization. From what is clear, the devastation did not come from a single climatic event, but from a chain reaction that included earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and rising sea levels. Although humanity has survived thanks to its advanced technology and the existence of an extensive network of tunnels below the surface.
What's more, some other details also reveal that the civilization was so advanced that it actually already was on the verge of achieving free space travel. This is further revealed during exploration and environmental clues such as the many control towers dotted around the map and the departure and arrival building at the spaceport. It seems a fraction of humanity managed to escape from Earth before the crisis, in what was defined as a mass exodus. They were left behind by remnants of civilizations and those who could not 'buy' their way out.
The causes of Earth's destruction and the origin of the ARC
Someone is leading the enemies of the ARC back to Earth, but why?
After centuries of ecological devastation, earthquakes, and rising sea levels, humanity saw for the first time a glimmer of hope in what was known as Sunrisean attempt to recapture the surface after an era of darkness. Then came what was known as The First Wave, in which the ARC, a mysterious enemy controlled by artificial intelligence, once again ravaged the surface of the Earth, as can be believed through many clues in the game. Although there is something quite clear about it: ARC Probes are constantly searching for resourceswhile Harvesters and Queens are deployed to steal resources from the planet. And there it is high chance that ARC what was caused or at least accelerated the climate crisis devastate humanity beyond recovery and easily conquer the surface of the Earth.
The ARC drones are definitely designed for riot control, and automation has made them work even after Earth has long exhausted the resources they seek. The most suspect is that the ARC probes descend as autonomous search devices and launch back to base once they have accumulated enough data. ARC drones also drop like orbital strikes, so they have to come from somewhere. Maybe the 'Mothership' or whatever, the base of this ARC AI is still active, getting resources and sending them away. The question is, where do all these ARC harvesters go? and 'who drives them?' What if ARC Enemies are sent by the remnants of humanity who conquered other planets in the Solar System to gain precious resources and destroy all opposition from those who remained?
Who leads The Raiders?
Those who organize the fight are the survivors and scientists, those left behind
If what players are led to believe is true, the 'cream' of civilization has fled the planet in what is known as an 'Exodus', a common trope among post-apocalyptic Earth scenarios. However, if this is true, then who is leading the raiders in their sanctuaries? All this tinkering with technology and bunkers isn't just anyone's doing: It's highly likely that those who built the infrastructure to help others leave Earth were left behind. The remains of those who were abandoned to their own good fortune they probably learned trades from them, and now mankind, led by their descendants, is fighting against the machines.
Scientists, medics, engineers and every notorious character (traders) in Speranza have their own story and background. Celeste is a survivors of the first wave and clearly one of Speranza's leaders. Shani is a security expert and the one running operations on the surface, leading Raider teams and securing safe mining points when things take a turn for the worse. But perhaps the most mysterious resident of the Raiders underground base is Lance, a fully functional Android which is in charge of medical operations and supplies. Needless to say, they all play an important role in the story, and players will soon be able to connect the dots between who is leading the effort against the second wave and those playing in the shadows to profit from desperation.
