Streaming organizations like OfflineTV, OTK, and 100 Thieves have seen some of YouTube and Twitch's most popular content creators come through their ranks, and many have even made forays into competitive esports. However, among the many different streaming groups within the gaming community, few have been as iconic as FaZe Clan.
FaZe Clan first started on YouTube in 2010, with the group's main content mainly focused on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The group quickly became a prolific inter Call of Duty a community known both for its impressive gameplay and electrifying personalities since the beginning. FaZe would quickly grow into one of the most popular gaming streaming groups, with FaZe Clan branching out into esports and starting professional shooter teams like Call of Duty and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Now, FaZe Clan is unexpectedly and abruptly saying goodbye to several of the group's most popular streamers.
Several streamers have announced their departure from the FaZe clan
Several members of FaZe Clan have now officially confirmed their departure from the iconic content creation organization. Christmas saw several content creators associated with FaZe Clan, including Lacy, StableRonaldo, YourRage and many others, reveal that they will be leaving FaZe Clan. FaZe Clan's Adapt served as one of the biggest creators to leave the group, with Adapt having streamed as a member of FaZe Clan since the brand's inception in 2011. Members who gave reasons for their departures largely cited conflicts over ownership and control of the brand, with former FaZe member PlaqueBoyMax primarily blaming the former CEO of FaZe Media Bank.
The set of sudden departures from FaZe Clan caught not only many fans by surprise, but even some other members of the group. PlaqueBoyMax's claim about Banks stated that many FaZe content creators did not have proper control over their content, prompting a response from Banks, who denied the allegations. Many of the remaining members of FaZe were also blindsided by the news, with ZooMaa and Rug in particular claiming to feel “confused” and “heartbroken” by the changes. Beloved content creator Valkyrae later added her own information to the ongoing drama, suggesting that some former FaZe members may be planning to form a new group, though nothing has been confirmed.
The departures of the FaZe clan leave the future of the streaming brand uncertain
FaZe Clan's unexpected drama is likely to leave serious questions about the future stability of the content creator organization. Many of the inflammatory comments about FaZe management after the departures referred to issues regarding ownership and control of content under FaZe. The group of streamers who have left FaZe Clan also make up nearly half of the brand's list of active content creators, with eight members remaining after the departure. Popular streamer Adin Ross also hinted that money may have come into play with the departures, suggesting that FaZe owner GameSquare demanded 20% of streamers' earnings.
The new change in the FaZe Clan staff is not the first time a major streamer has left the platform during 2025. The content creator group saw one of its most popular talents leave FaZe Clan earlier this year, with Nickmercs announcing his departure from FaZe in January. The aforementioned Banks also stepped down from his position as CEO of FaZe Clan earlier this year following controversy surrounding his involvement in the cryptocurrency meme. A litany of departures throughout 2025 leaves the future of FaZe Clan's streaming arm in a precarious position.
