Highguard unveils a brand new game mode and gameplay changes

Wildlight Entertainment has announced a brand new update for High Guardian which brings game mode, weapon modifications and changes to the game. It was a turbulent time High Guardian from its January 26, 2026 release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. With industry veterans from franchises like Call of Duty and Apex Legends guided the shooter's development, there was immense pressure on her to perform and become the next exceptional hit.

Unfortunately, High Guardian so far it has not met these expectations. While the number of players increased after release, mainly because the game was free to play and people were curious, the title was not able to maintain its momentum. Many in the community believed that the shooter was just another live service game that didn't bring anything unique to the table. More on Twitter, official High Guardian account revealed a brand new update for the game that is set to launch on February 26, 2026. Central to this patch is the Raid Rush mode, which was designed for quick matches. Here, two teams of five players will take turns attacking and defending their bases, without any looting phase between rounds. Players must also use Trader Flynn to upgrade their weapons and equipment. At the end of each round, teams must switch between offense and defense, with their base walls and generators being restored. Players will be able to earn Vesper which can be spent at the merchant for unique items. Each player in a match will start with the same armor and its rarity will increase as the round progresses.

The High Guardian the update also includes quality of life changes. For example, a new Comeback Kill mechanic has been added that rewards players with a Vesper after going on a killing streak of three or more eliminations. The developers also decided to modify the Reviver Amulet, reducing its bonus revival rate from 50% to 15%. Smugger's Den also saw the addition of new respawn points. This patch marks one of several updates released for High Guardian in February 2026.

In addition to these changes, the update also brings changes to the balance of various weapons High Guardian. The Dynasty has been upgraded with increased damage, the Longhorn has received a rate of fire increase, the Longhorn (Repeater) has improved hipfire accuracy, and the Corsair has seen a reduction in the delay before the recoil pattern resets. On the nerf side, the Vanguard has taken a hit to its accuracy and maneuverability, while the Viper also has reduced maneuverability when using the 2x optic. Wildlight Entertainment also fixed a few bugs High Guardian with this patch, which includes wall geometry issues in the Kingdom's Belltower and shooting range base selection is short.

Will this update be enough to revive High GuardianThe number of players remains to be seen. However, it is reassuring to see that Wildlight Entertainment has not abandoned the title and continues to release new updates and fixes that improve the overall gaming experience. The gaming industry has seen titles like Concord are shelved for weeks without much effort to improve them, so this level of support is a refreshing change. It will be interesting to see how High Guardian is evolving as its next major update arrives in March 2026, bringing an all-new base type and raid tool.
