Hisoka vs Chrollo round 2 explained

In recent HxH chapter, Togashi strongly hinted at a possible rematch between the two monstrous Nenu users, Chroll Lucilfer and Hisoka. These two had an intense fight in the same arc. However, as things develop, they could face each other again.

However, this time Chrollo's life is not guaranteed and he may die before the end of this arc. The end of the Phantom Troupe could be very near Hunter X Hunter.

Hisoka and Chroll's history

Hisoka was a member of the Phantom Troupe

The Phantom Troupe and Hisoka have always been very interesting parts of the HxH story. Hisoka was introduced in the first story arc HxHwith the events of Hunter's Trial unfolding, while the Phantom Troupe made their first proper appearance during the Yorknew arc, which focused heavily on them, as well as Kurapika, a character who aims to get revenge on them for what they did. he did to the Kurta clan. However, they were mentioned much earlier in the series due to their deep ties to Kurapika's story and character.

In the Heavenly Arena arc, it was revealed that Hisoka was a member of the Phantom Troupe. Specifically, he was number 4 in the Phantom Troupe. However, shortly after, the author clarified that Hisoka had no real loyalty to the group, and instead his only motivation for being part of the Spiders was to fight their leader, Chroll Lucilfer.

Unfortunately for him, he was unable to fight Chroll at the end of the Yorknew City arc because his Nen was sealed away by Kurapika. This left Hisoka in the awkward position of wanting to throw Chroll out of it so he could fight him.

Even though the task sounded simple, it will be fulfilled only after the events on the Island of Greed, where they managed to find a Nene exorcist for him. Despite being banished, Chrollo still wasn't ready to fight Hisoka. In the last anime arc, Hisoka was seen present at the 13th Hunter Chairman election, but Chrollo and the Phantom Troupe were not there at all.

Fans had to wait much longer to actually witness their fight. Even though their fight has been developed in the manga, it is yet to be animated. This happened during the most recent manga arc, the Succession Contest, which took place on the Black Whale.

The most anticipated fight in Hunter x Hunter was undoubtedly the battle between Hisoka and Chrollo, a fight that Togashi has been teasing for decades. Finally, fans could read this fight as it unfolded starting with HxH chapter 351 and live up to the hype. After spending a lot of time avoiding Hisoka, Chrollo finally decided to fight him in the Sky Arena. The reason it took Chroll so long was because he needed some time to prepare to secure victory against such a powerful foe as Hisoka.

Chrollo even borrowed Nen powers from his Phantom Troupe members, namely Shalnark and Kortopi. During this fight, he used a number of interesting abilities such as Sun and Moon, Convert Hands, Order Stamp and so on. Chrollo even developed the Bookmark ability, which allows him to use more than one ability from his Skill Hunter book at once.

Because of this, despite his talent and strength, Hisoka was overwhelmed by Chrollo's intense planning and skill and ended up losing that battle. This battle technically ended in Hisoko's death, but even death couldn't stop him because before he died, he bet on Bungee Gum to pump his heart and lungs to bring him back to life, and it worked exactly as expected.

While the Phantom Troupe believed Hisoka had died forever after his loss to Chroll, Machi was surprised when Hisoka woke up and immobilized her. Hisoka had spared her life, but he wouldn't have spared some for the other Troupe members. That same night, he took the lives of both Shalnark and Kortopi to ensure that Chrollo would never be able to use their powers again. With Hisoka's revival, he came back much stronger and with a desire to kill all the spiders.

Chrollo Wants To Kill Hisoka For Good

After Hisoka killed two Spider members, Shalnark and Kortopi, the Phantom Troupe is now looking for him to kill him forever. Likewise, Hisoka hunts spiders. Both the Spiders and Hisoka are aboard the Black Whale.

All members of the Phantom Troupe try to reach Hisoka before Chrollo himself. This is due to the fact that he believes a rematch between Chroll and Hisoka would mean the death of Chroll and possibly the end of the Phantom Troupe as fans know it right now.

Chrollo, Bonolenov stated, is currently searching for a special treasure on the Black Whale. This treasure is more of a nen ability of someone on this ship. Who it is and what this ability entails is currently unknown. The only thing fans can take away from this is whatever this ability is, it will kill both Hisoka and Chroll.

Everyone knows that he wants to solve this once and for all by himself… and that the “treasure” he's looking for on this ship is the ability he'll need to kill Hisoka for good… that's why everyone wants to kill Hisoka first. Chrollo can reach him. — Bonolenov

As things stand, Hisoka follows Bonolenov. Even since his awakening, he is much stronger and may even be immortal. Chrollo finds it necessary to find this treasure in order to kill Hisoka for good, suggesting that Hisoka could have the potential to constantly revive after each death, which would normally make him indestructible.

A rematch between these two powerful characters is a possibility in this arc, and this rematch will definitely be the end of Chrollo and possibly Hisoka if successful – killing off two of Togashi's most beloved characters. Kurapika, who is also currently aboard the Black Whale, could also be involved in all of this. How he has been able to play his part so far is still a mystery, as he is currently very busy with matters concerning the Kakin princes and the protection of Woble. If Chrollo and the Phantom Troupe die at the hands of Hisoka, there will be no point in Kurapika moving forward. As such, his involvement in their battle is also absolutely necessary.
