Homelander will battle Superman in a crossover comic before Boys season 5

The Boys will come to an explosive and very violent end in 2026 through its fifth and final season. But before that, we'll finally find out who would win in a fight between Homelander and Superman, as the two seemingly invincible metalheads go head-to-head in a special DC x The Boys crossover.

The clash between Homelander and Superman, reported by Bleeding Cool News, will be part of an epic upcoming crossover event called DC's KO Boss Battle. Continuing the KO story arc that kicked off in October after they were pitted against each other to try and earn their way into the fight against Darkseid, the heroes and villains of the DC Universe will now be tasked with taking on characters not only from their own universe, but outside of the DC franchise as well.

The crossover will not only welcome characters from The Boys to the DCU, but also capable fighters from Mortal Kombat, Vampirella and more. Some of the packaging for the multi-franchise collaboration has been revealed, so we already know that Superman and Homelander are coming together.

Despite their opposing views, they share most of the same abilities and even have the same appearance. That's why they're often paired up as the ultimate cross-brand super clash, and in KO Boss Battle we might finally find out which one is stronger.

We'll get more than just Homelander vs. Superman

While Superman vs. Homelander is a natural headliner, it won't be the only characters from different franchises we see clash on their way to thwart the returning Darkseid. Beneath The Trees' Samantha Strong takes on the Joker and Wonder Woman goes to war with Vampiella. Mortal Kombat's Sub-Zero will also have a role, but it's unclear exactly where he'll appear and who he might fight.

The ultimate goal is for the DC characters to accumulate enough Omega Power to make one of them the Omega King. Only then can that person challenge Darkseid. After going through everyone in their own multiverse, they now have to find challengers from other franchises to replenish that energy.

The KO Boss Battle crossover event will take place in February 2026, a few months before the final season of The Boys begins. The first trailer for season five dropped last week, and everyone has been busy trying to figure out who exactly Homelander is going to punch. His son Ryan is the betting favorite right now, but I'm not convinced.
