How Davy D. Xebec beat Gol D. Roger explained

Before the Elbaf arch almost everyone One piece fan unanimously agreed that Gol D. Roger was the greatest pirate in the series. They had good reason to believe that Roger's legacy was unmatched. After all, he was the only one who became the Pirate King. However, there has been a shift.

After learning about Xebec, many fans strongly believe that he left behind a much better legacy than Gol D. Roger. At first this statement may sound ridiculous, but after putting Xebec's life under the microscope, it does not seem far-fetched.

Xebec was a descendant of Davy D. Jones, who was said to be the real king of the world. When Xebec mentioned his name to Imu, he became enraged. Despite being from such a prominent family, Xebec chose to hide his lineage in order to live a normal life. However, this did not work as he became the most infamous pirate of his era. One of his craziest feats was infiltrating Marija during the Dreaming when security was at its peak.

Even on a normal day, it's nearly impossible for a human to enter the place, so hacking into a place during the Dreaming is nothing short of a miracle. However, Xebec not only entered the place, but also kidnapped several kings and even killed an admiral. If all that wasn't enough, he even met Ima and threatened them.

After the Marijoa incident, Xebec went on a rampage recruiting the world's most infamous pirates. Together they formed the Rocks Pirates and went on to achieve greatness. Although Xebec was ambitious, he was also a man of principle. He was loyal to his friends and defended them whenever needed. Xebec also loved his family very much because it was the only reason he returned to God Valley, his home.

In God Valley, Xebec defeated Saint. Figarland Garling, one of the Holy Knights. He later dealt a blow to Ima but did not damage them. Xebec lived a great life, but his end was quite tragic. After Saturn's body dissipated, Imu used Domi Reversi on Xebec, turning him into a demon. Xebec lost his will and became Imu's loyal servant. He was eventually stopped by the team of Roger and Garp.

There is no denying that Xebec is one of the greatest pirates in One Piece history, but he will be surpassed by the end of the series. There are actually two characters who are in pole position to replace Davy D. Xebce. One of them is his own flesh and blood, Marshall D. Teach, and the other is Monkey D. Luffy. Both are elite fighters who have huge ambitions. Luffy wants to become the pirate king. Blackbeard wants the title as well, but he also wants to become king of the world, a dream he shares with his late father.

Blackbeard has made huge strides towards his goal as he has already collected three Road Poneglyphs to help reach the Laugh Tale. Luffy is not far behind as he also has copies of the three Road Poneglyphs. It is quite obvious that the race to become the pirate king is between the two of them. Since Luffy is the main protagonist, there is a high probability that he will defeat Blackbeard to Laugh Tale and accept his position as Pirate King. However, there is no doubt that the battle will be exciting and satisfying.
