How to start Vault of The Damned Missions
Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned DLC has two ways to access your story campaign and content. The first one is choosing to start a new game in the main menu after purchasing the DLC and selecting Mad Ellie and Vault of the Damned game type.

This will be start the game with a level 13 Vault Hunterbase equipment, movement abilities, vehicle and all story missions needed to run the completed DLC: Guns Blazing, Recruitment Drive, Down and Outbound and A Lot To Process.
Using this method will allow you to get right into the DLC with the new Vault Hunter after watching a short cutscene like C4SH the Rogue that was released with Story Pack 1 and you there will be no need to repeat the initial missions.
Starting DLC with an old character
If you want play the DLC with your existing Vault Hunter and make sure any DLC loot you get is high level, all you have to do is load the game as usual and make sure you have completed all story missions up to and including A Lot To Process.
Fast travel to Backup plan of Zadar in Dissected Plateau and interact with a statue covered in tentacles in a slightly snowy corner near the top of the stairs.
This will start the Invitation story missionand according to interact with the statue againyou will see a short cutscene, the same one that plays if you started the DLC game type. You will be teleported to a new location and automatically start On Icebound Shores Abandonedanother story mission in the chain.
