Welcome to the second act Mewgenicswhere everything is more deadly, some enemies are unapproachable and some will outright kill you if you get too close. If you thought the first act was a bit of a fun challenge, you're in for a treat in this one, and we'd expect nothing less. Fortunately, with a little knowledge, strategy, and a lot of luck, you can make your way across the scorching desert and into new areas.
First, you'll probably have to get past Dack, one of the mini-bosses in the region, who will seemingly dodge anything you throw at him, steal your money, and poison you. Yeah, we're starting to think we're not even welcome in the desert, but we need to get stronger cats with more unique abilities and nothing's going to stop us now, not even throwing knives, thieves!
Overview of Dack
As mentioned above, Dack is a mid-way point mini-boss in Desert the Mewgenics region, which is the first area in the second act. Although he only has a few moves like most other bosses, his tricks are much harder to deal with, and he deals significantly greater damage than those before him. Lock in and prepare for a life and death battle with this one; there are quite a few of them.

Ok now it's time for the units and we say don't try anything too drastic, tried and true Thief, Tank, Hunter and Priest will be more than enough to beat Dack in a fight. Fight fire with fire, we say. Since Dack is a thief, you should be a thief too, not just because it's cool, but because hopefully you'll have the ability entice his escape then teleport behind him for a devastating blow right after.
Besides, yours Hunter they also come in clutch as they can forcing Dack to spend his Backflips with filler shots before the actual deal lands to him for great harm. Yours Tank can also help draw aggro and absorb more annoying attacks from Dack, to keep Cleric will keep everyone's health filled to the max avoid headaches once Dack gets on the roll!
How to beat Dack
Unlike most Dack bosses so far, he actually does quite a lot of attacks and actions has at his disposal, which is why he is so frustrating to deal with. Just when you think you have him figured out, he does slip out of your grasp, poison you, and then roll far away only from you to do it all over again. But it doesn't have to be, and we'll show you how make him show his hand early and punish him again and again, he completely downplays what bothers him so much!
Dack – Throwing knife
A fairly common Dack action is his throwing knife, allow him to throw a sharp blade across many tiles in any world direction, deals decent damage to its target. Since there's no tall grass to hide in, there's no real way to avoid it try to have your Tank in front of you to draw aggro and take a hit as their armor absorbs most of the damage.
While using this move to damage your units, Dack also uses this attack to make you flip a coin on the ground. We'll touch on that a little later, but you should try your best to get your coins before he gets to them. Additionally, if your The tank has the ability to swap places with a friendly unit taking incoming damage, use it often during this fight!
Your Move – Bait Dack's backflip and punish him
Now it's your turn, and you probably are scratching your head when it comes to how to hurt to this guy. Fortunately, yours Hunter will likely have many ways to do this. When it's their turn, take them fire a shot at him which should be yours least damaging attack. This will be forcing Dack to use his Backflip, he completely avoided the attack as he rolled to another tile.
Since he spent his Backflip, you can now launch real attacks at him and guarantee damage. We strongly recommend using abilities that trigger Familiars such as Fleas on him as they will also attack him and possibly make him spend his Backflips if he ever recovers them. Use this tactic often because you can deal a lot of damage this way!
If your thief has a projectile like their own throwing knife and Dack still has his Backflip, move right in front of him and use it on him to roll out of the way. From there, teleport behind him and backstab him for an incredible amount of damage. Repeat this and the above steps until it is done. At this rate it shouldn't take too long!
Dack – Coins grant more backflips
Remember when we said to collect yours coin if he hits you with a throwing knife? Now it's time to explain why, how For Dack, his main priority will be to get them out of the ground, like them complete his Backflips, allowing him to dodge incoming attacks. If he can't collect coins, can't dodge anymore This makes every attack a guarantee, so you no longer have to roll a fake attack first and then the real one.
So whenever possible, if Coin pops out of you through his throwing knife, try to restore it as soon as possible than he can because you'll be able to unleash many more attacks on him without having to worry about him completely dodging the first one. You can too use it as bait to get it closer you, but we recommend that you do only if your character is great at baiting his Backflip will also enable you to do so punish him adequately!
Dack – Poison Stab
Finally we have him Poison sting which he only really uses when he's already close to your units. This attack has it plunge a poison-coated knife into one of your units, immediately poison them letting them take damage at the start of their turn for an extended period of time. If this happens, make sure your cleric is around to offer healing if needed as it can get pretty ugly if it's not checked.
Beyond that, there's not much you can do to avoid it except hope letting your Tank catch it or draw aggro beforehand. However, it shouldn't be what ends the run, because watching his Backflips and preventing him from earning more will make you wish you never rolled!
