After activating the broken ancient lightning device in Pailune's Scorched Mountain as part of the “Ancient Barrier” faction quest, you will be able to reach Windsong Peaks and find Titan, God of Thunder.
Fighting a god is no small task, so we'll cover what you should bring to this boss fight, along with how to easily beat all three of its stages. Not only does the Titan have two stages, but it also becomes a Gigantified Titan, which is a bit more complex and mechanically heavier than its other form, which is why you'll find a guide on how to defeat it below.
Ancient Barrier Walkthrough in Crimson Desert
Pailune Faction's “Ancient Barrier” quest requires players to activate a broken ancient lightning device. Here are the steps you need to take.
You will not be able to fight the Titan until you have completed enough faction quests in Pailune to unlock the “Jackal's Scheme” from Stjar Clan in Skallcove. You can then run “The Clue for Chaos” from the same location.
What to wear before fighting a Titan in Crimson Desert
-
as always Palmar pills and Meat Skewers/Stew they are essential for boss fights as they ensure you can heal his damage, regain his spirit and of course revive from death.
- Turning Slash is a must combat skill due to how immune you are when using it, and the damage is pretty high.
- Investing in stamina is extremely important for this fight as you will be dodging to avoid his lightning attacks and in his end phase you will need to either climb or spam R2 attacks.
How to defeat Titan in Crimson Desert
Titan phase #1
-
Use Turning Slash (R1+R2) and Blinding Flash Finisher (L1+R1+R2) as your primary attack.
-
You should only attack when the Titan is charging its slow attacks or resting between his own hits.
-
The Titan will use stomps if you get too close, which can be easily dodged by rolling.
-
Titan also introduces lightning attacks from his spear that can be dodged by throwing.
-
Yours the main attack pattern should be: Turn Slash (heavy damage + immunity), then Focus for spirit buildingand repeat until his blue health bar runs out.
Titan phase #2
-
The attack phase remains the same for phase 2: Use Swing Slash, Blind Flash and Focus to keep your aggression and hard hitting between the Titan's own attacks.
-
Titan's attack patterns are still slow and easy to dodge, but he uses some new moves.
-
One such move is an invulnerable lightning attack where he engulfs the arena with lightning strikes.
-
To avoid this attack, avoid spamming and avoiding the glowing blue areas that indicate a hit and spam healing to make sure you don't get killed.
Although Titan looks like a two-phase fight, it actually has an additional phase. Don't worry about dying in this stage as you can click Repeat to start from the Gigantified Titan instead of starting at his first stage.
How to defeat Gigantified Titan in Crimson Desert
-
Ignore attempts to climb the Gigantified Titan.
-
Dodge the Gigantified Titan's spear attacks until he slams his fist into the floor.
-
Move around his armor fist to the exposed side skin and attack it.
- Attacking Gigantified Titan Skin is the only way to deal damage.
-
R2 and Turning Slash attacks deal a lot of damage and eventually stun him.
-
Once you stun, you can get in a few extra hits without worrying about his attacks.
-
Repeat this process until the Gigantified Titan finally dies.
An alternate way to defeat the Gigantified Titan
-
When the Gigantified Titan punches the floor, you can climb onto his gauntlet and hold R2.
-
Once his arm stabilizes in the air, run to his left arm and hold onto it.
-
Now use Jump + Triple Force Palm and Flight to get on his back.
- On the back of the Gigantified Titan's neck, you can find its weak spot covered in chains.
-
Breaking the chains and stabbing the weak spot will cause the Gigantified Titan to fall.
Climbing can be a bit buggy, so during Crimson Desert's first build we recommend attacking his hand and ignoring the climbing mechanic.
All Titan rewards in Crimson Desert
Killing the Titan will give you the Reckoning Two-Handed Spear and Lightning Bolt Plate Armor:
- Lightning Bolt Plate Armor not good because it can't be upgraded and has a default defense of 14. It also can't have Abyss Gears. However, the natural Lightning Resistance Lv 7 makes it practically the best armor for lightning enemies.
- Clearing Spear is exceptional. Not only is the damage and attack speed great for a level 3 two-handed weapon, but it also has 5 Abyss Gear slots and Lightning God's Affliction, which causes lightning to hit the enemy after you parry them with L1.
