When you first choose a Druid at the start of the Last of the Druids content patch for Path of Exile 2 in the December 2025 update, which added content to the Early Access hit, you'll get talisman in the beginning, this allows you to switch between two animal forms: a bear, which boasts power to compensate for the lower speed, and a wolf, which boasts speed to compensate for the lower power. If you are a fan swiping quickly and smashing enemies with freezing powersthen the wolf is the Druid character you should lean into.
Path Of Exile 2: Rogue Exiles, Explained
Rogue Exiles are very challenging opponents in Path of Exile 2 – they're almost like PvP encounters!
You collect a lot of them magic on ice with a wolf, so it would be wise to double that with your human form's weapons and skills learned from uncut gems, as both wolf and human form will rely on this chilling type of magic in battle. To be created draw the bear and the wolf separately means you'll need to pay close attention to the skills and stats you use, especially choosing the right gear.
Different gear offers different skills, so choose your weapons wisely based on what types of damage you're targeting. If you've buffed your ice damage, equipping your druid with a weapon that gives you a fire-based move can make these upgrades a bit confusing.
Your biggest way of fighting will be with your wolf inside melee combatso you find yourself relying on the combination freezing and then smashing enemies survive the battle. This is particularly effective in crowd control a situation where Lunar Swipes freeze groups and Shred breaks them to pieces in a faithful one-two combo.
Domination
While there are plenty of ways to build your Wolf Druid in Path of Exile 2, we've found it best to specify Soothsayer dominance when given the opportunity. It is a reliable method constantly increasing damage output through the attack boost for skills. The node you'll have access to on the Passive Tree in this dominion offers all kinds of impressive upgrades of this variety, so stack up there as soon as possible.

Instead of the strength and firepower you get with the bear build for the Druid class in Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids, the werewolf form. focuses on speed and ice powers in its construction, leading you to a completely different ideal skill set. Here is the big goal freezing enemies fixed using your various frost based abilities and then using your wolf to move to smash frozen enemies and cause massive damage.
These chilling powers also make you great for crowd controlas you have a number of ways to stop enemies in their tracks before you make your own move.
In your wolf form, you will rely on faster attacks with lower damage than in bear form. You hit much faster and more times as a result, which helps balance out the lower amount of direct damage that a single wolf attack does. Human form is best for passive attacks and ranged moves before entering combat; keep the combat to close to your werewolf form.
Passive tree
With so much reliance on elementals, your best bet for building a wolf druid in Path of Exile 2 is to use a passive tree to increase your attack damage as much as possibleboth physically and elemental attacks.
Your build will rely equally on both, so don't lean too much into one over the other. No boosts physical attack will be useful for your finishing moves as a wolf while the power or speed of the spell increases will make you a much stronger and more agile Druid on the field. The faster you can apply frost damage and blast frozen enemies to pieces, the better.
You'll have defense and HP regeneration options at will, but improving your spell damage and physical attack should always be your first priority. Bulk armor will become important, so don't neglect it completely and be sure to stack your elemental shield as much as possible, as wolf form relies on this metric much more heavily than bear.
Device
Regardless of which form you choose to rely on as a Druid in Path of Exile 2, you'll find plenty of powerful sticks use as weapons, each providing a host of new abilities and stat benefits. And while it's always a good idea to add more powerful weapons, don't forget to do so along the way upgrade your talismans if possible to ensure you do the most damage with them.
You will always want to rune slot for weapons as soon as possible to increase your damage output with them even further and potentially add additional buffs or elemental abilities to your repertoire.
The goal with your gear should be increase your attack power, speed and maximum HP whenever possible. Focus on buffing both melee and spell damage, as your wolf form will rely heavily on using a combination of both to be most effective in combat. Anything adds cold damage or attack will be a good choice for accessories.
You will need good strength energy shieldsso the more armor you have on your werewolf druid that adds this metric the better! Use accessories to help increase your already impressive Dexterity, and any additional mana capacity or regeneration rate you can focus on, the better.
