One nice thing about them is that just like Pokemon, the Digimon in this game have individual personalities. While they don't affect stat gain when leveling up like they do in Pokemon, they do have some mechanical effects in the games – and can even be changed at your whim!
Updated November 4, 2025: We've quickly updated this article to add some recommendations on the best personality types to use for your teammates!
Digimon Personality Overview
They exist in the Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth games eight individual personality typesand every Digimon will have one of them. They are key to use DigiFarms.
These are digital storage devices that allow you to interact with your Digimon by feeding them, setting training regimesor set them tasks.
Each DigiFarm is named a Digimon leader. Personality types of both the head of DigiFarm and every single Digimon will affect the results of these tasks.
Details in the table below how personalities affect DigiFarm commands.

When you know, you can plan perfect DigiFarm listings for your goals. For Develop and Investigate quests that have full Builder or Searcher Digimon lists, respectively, will reduce quest time 20 minutes each.
Remember that a Digimon can only gain a number of stat points through training equal to the number of points half their ABI plus 50. So a Digimon with 16 ABI could theoretically gain 58 stat points through DigiFarm training.
Use this knowledge, plus the existence of limiter chips that lower trained stats, to build your Digimon to your standards.

The best personalities for your Digimon
While personalities dictate how your Digimon will gain stat bonuses from DigiFarm training, their main strategic purpose is to determine where the final +100 bonus Digimon stat points are applied.
A fully built, competitive Digimon can only allocate these 100 bonus points to one stat category. You must use the appropriate personality patch (Fighter for ATK, Brainy for INT, Nimble for SPD, etc.) before starting the final training process.
The table below provides the most details common roles for Digimon and which personality is the optimal final choice to maximize their utility in battle.
