Once you land on the Arcadia-7 in StarRuptureyou will be working on behalf of corporations. Your job is to provide various resources and data that can be found or obtained from the planet and send them to these corporations. As you progress through the quests, the requirements will require you to further and further refine the core ores you obtain from the planet. Unfortunately, you won't get very far if your structures don't have a power source, but the game doesn't explain this very well. Here's how to connect the power supply StarRupture.
StarRupture Tips Guide for Beginners
Master StarRupture with these basic tips for beginners! From character selection to unlocking key tech, we've got you covered.
Connecting structures to power in StarRupture
To connect a structure to a power source, they must be connected either by touching each other or by using other platforms or rails to transmit power.. For example, you could place a solar generator right next to the ore extractor and that will give it the power it needs to run. This can be seen in the screenshot below.
Alternatively, if the structure is in a location where it is difficult to build, but is connected by rails to another structure, these can be used to transmit the power source. For example, if you have an Orbital Cargo Launcher located right next to two solar generators and they are providing power, you can then use a rail to connect the Orbital Cargo Launcher to an ore miner that doesn't yet have a power source to power it from the solar generators with the Orbital Cargo Launcher.
There is another alternative which involves using platforms that can be built from the 'Module Components' tab in the 'Build' menu sidebar. When transferring power through platforms, you can place a platform between the structure and the power source to supply power to the structure.
It is worth noting that each energy source has a limited energy output. For example, a solar generator can only output 10 energy. The Orbital Cargo Launcher requires 5 to function, as does the Smelter. As such, one solar generator can power the two on the rail, but you'll need to place another solar generator if you also want to power the attached ore extractor if it doesn't already have a power source. This can be especially useful if you have an extractor located on a calcium ore deposit where there isn't much room to build.
You can check the power required for any texture by going to it, pressing E, and selecting the “i” icon on the left side of the menu.
Remember that you can always delete buildings and dormitories StarRupture if you need to rethink the layout of your base and structures as your base continues to expand.
