Prologue from Solasta 2 he wastes no time throwing you in at the deep end. After a disorienting teleportation tears your party away from everything familiar, you find yourself stranded in an unknown land with one pressing priority: finding your brother Rickard.
Two Inches From Death is the game's first proper story quest, and while it's not the most mechanically demanding chapter in the adventure, it sets the tone – introducing you to world politics, its dangers, and local powers that you'll need to carefully navigate if you want to survive.
Seek help
Once you have control of your party, explore the area around the starting location. You will meet a group Wood gnomes and garden nymphs.
You will be prompted to try it assault enemy, and that can help, but it's not particularly necessary. The best way to ambush enemies is with a a ranged character attacking the nearest Wood Sprite. The rest of the enemy group will be far away by then and easy to take down.
This fight is straightforward, but it's worth understanding the distribution of enemies: Wood goblins clash in close combat range while Garden nymphs hold back and ranged attack. The natural instinct may be to send your melee fighters behind the Goblins since they range anyway, but resist it; prioritize send your melee units right into the Garden Nymphs to stop their ranged attacks soon. Have your own characters or wizards deal with the goblins. Controlling the Nymph first significantly cleaner encounters.
Once the fight is resolved, follow a linear path forward (use the map to see where you can actually go) until you run into a group of strangers. The conversation starts automatically.
This dialogue has a choice, but don't worry about it – no matter what you say, your party will be arrested. Make sure to mention RickardOf course.

Get out of jail
You will find yourself locked up, but this is far from wasted time. Search bed in your cell and interact with it for a long rest.
This is yours first level in the gameso make sure you engage it properly – take your time. Take a moment to understand your characters' new abilities, as the decisions you make here will affect how your party handles future fights.
Pay attention to the ability to customize the choices your characters make as they level up! The game doesn't do a great job of alerting you that there are potential choices to be made.
From this point on, the quest becomes more of a story. A jailer will come to escort you and you will have to follow him to meet Anabasialocal ruler. Pay close attention at this audience – the interview reveals a lot about the political landscape of this new country and your party's precarious position within it.
After talking to Anabasia, follow the jailer one more time. This second companion sequence leads to you the reunion with Rickardwhich concludes Two Inches From Death.
Take your time with these final scenes. The dialogue here does an important job of world-building, and understanding the situation your party is in now will make subsequent quests much more grounded and purposeful. Once the scene is over, the quest is complete! Leave the room, pick up your old gear and start the game right.
