When you start building a strong group of Monsties in Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflectionmany of the battles will begin to seem trivial. You'll be able to end most of them before they even start. Not so with Calamitious Elder Dragons.
They represent the biggest challenge in the game, and the only thing harder than one Elder Dragon is two at once. That's exactly what Ibushi and Narwa are, and they are by far the hardest challenge in the entire game.
The best Monsties to use against Ibushi and Narwa
Since you are up against two elder dragons here, you'll want at least two strong Monstas alternating between them. Both have a slight weakness for Dragonwhile Ibushi is very weak to fire and Narwa to ice. However, both also easily resist an element that the other is particularly weak to.
For this purpose, Dragon Monstie is a very good choice and Malzeno can heal and deal damage at the same time. This means they are very weak to dragon so Ibushi hurts for them. Stygian Zinogre is the oppositewith great resistance to Dragon but very weak to Narwa's Thunder attacks.
When you target Ibushi's fire weakness, Ratha is very usefulthough the Dragon weakness is again a problem. Hellblade Glavenus fits the bill good with their durability, although their low defense and speed still makes survivability a problem.
For Narwa's Ice Weakness Goss Harag works wellespecially with their high Defense. Velkhana can deal a much higher level of damage though they have lower durability and their speed should help them avoid many attacks.
As you can see, outside of raising a two-element monsterit can be hard to get the perfect Monstie to handle both, so you need to have a healthy rotation on hand. Skills that will improve your team especially your Defense and Dodgeare essential, and be able to reduce their such as E. Dominance lower attack and defense.

The best gear to use against Ibushi and Narwa
When it comes to gear, since you can't swap it out on the fly, you'll need one that's fairly all-encompassing. We've found that the easiest build that has the highest protection, the most decoration slots, and generally good durability is Goss Harag Armor. Getting to level three is critical to getting all three decoration slots.
We paired it with Dragon Def Boost (XL) and Thunder Def Boost (XL) decorations.as well as Elemental Assault (XL) Decorations to get some extra damage with our elemental attacks.
For the weapons, we chose one of each element they were weak to, so we could use two weapons at a time for each of them. We used Fire Ashen Wrath Bow, dragon The Duke's Grail Hunting horn and ice Icebrink A long sword. This gave us good coverage. The decorations are mostly up to you, but we've added them Precision Down Coating to the bow for some extra evasion which helps a lot.
The best companion to use against Ibushi and Narwa
For a companion, there are several options that can work. Thea and Eleanor tend to be the strongestthough Kora and Gael can also be quite effective. Most of Ibushi and Narwa's attacks hit the entire party, so Kořin's Focal Point isn't always that useful.
For Thea, sure use her Hunting Horn. It won't be effective against any enemies either, but it will be able to buff the entire party. And make sure that take the Gnocchi with youwhich uses both ice and dragon attacks to be effective against both elder dragons.
for Eleanor, use her greatswordwhich will only be effective against Ibushi, but can deal incredible damage. Additionally, Fortified Spirit is incredible because it functionally gives you an extra heart. Bring her Glavenus with you as well as their extra speed and escape over Angie is a huge help.
How to beat Ibushi and Narwa
To the battle itself. Ibushi and Narwa have a unique mechanic called Mind connection. In practice, this means that one of them will be equipped with a shell, while the other will mainly perform support. This can be in the form of removing buffs and applying them, as well as light healing. However, they can still deal damage, so don't completely ignore them.

Focus most of your attacks on the stronger enemyas they will have more damaged parts, making it easier to deplete the Wyvernsoul Gauge.

During this fight, never start a round with low HP if both elder dragons are going to do non-Head-to-Head attacks. they can easily wipe out the whole bunchand don't be afraid to use kin skills to nullify any of their powerful attacks. Better to prolong the fight than die early.
The hardest part of the fight starts when you get both of their HP below 50%. at this point both will be empoweredand gain access to new moves and can still buff each other. It's all about punishment. However, this means they both have a cloak that makes it easier to deplete the Wyvernsoul Gauge.
If you parry Ibushi and Narwa after draining their HP below 50%, both enter their empowered state during the second round when you fight them again.
By this point in the fight, you'll have seen what they can do, so it's just a case keep your defenses up and lower them. Try it focus on attacks with a higher Wyvernfell over damage to be detected faster, making them perform more Head-to-head attacks.
After they are defeated, your allies gain Testament follower skillor upgrade it if they have already defeated the elder dragon. You also get an upgraded version of it if you managed to defeat them without ever repelling them.
