How to safely enter the base of the Duga region in Stalker 2

The rainbow is a region in southwest corner of the map which holds one of the journalist hideouts at a heavily guarded base just outside the Burnt Forest region in Stalker 2. If players get close to the base, one of the snipers will fire at them, resulting in an immediate game over. However, there is a safe way to enter the base in Duga, and it is only possible with stealth.

Don't forget to save your game often, especially before entering the warehouse in Duga's base, to avoid making the long journey again.

Here's how to safely enter Duga's base Stalker 2.


  1. Approach the base from the south side and enter through the small gate, the location of which is marked on the map above.
  2. Continue in the direction of the press hideout while hugging the buildings on the right to approach the warehouse.
  3. Save your game before entering the warehouse, because inside there's a Burer ready to fire a million bullets at you.
  4. Carefully duck behind cover and approach Burer to take him out with either 2-3 well-aimed shotgun shots to the head or a few sniper shots.

Once you've defeated Burer, it's now time to take the Journalist's Hideout. However, there is a minor puzzle along the way that players must solve to open a cell that contains a stash and other goodies.

How to open a cell and get a journalist cache in Duga Base

In order to open the door of the cell in the Duga base, which contains the journalist's hideout and the PSI high-protection suit, players must perform a series of actions.


  1. First, run the generator right next to the cell in front of the containers to restore the power.
  2. After turning on the generator, turn around, go forward and head to the control room in the warehouse.
  3. Press the red button on the console to release the cell door.
  4. Go back down to the cells and open them to finally loot Dug the journalist's stash and the PSI protective suit.

Inside the Duga Journalist Stash, players will find a special rifle called “SA-U GABION” with some ammo. To the left of the Journalist's Hideout, players can pick up “SEVA-1 suit” from a cabinet that offers high PSI protection.

Now make sure you leave the base the same way you entered. Don't try to leave the base through the main entrance as this will trigger snipers to shoot you. Additionally, after receiving the items, save your game in case you die trying to leave the base.
