Not sure if you should continue rerolling for a new ability? This guide will list all the options and what they do.
When you play the Disney Pixl RPG, there are several ways to actually accumulate those pixels, so you can upgrade whoever you want whenever you want. This guide will cover what those ways are.
What are upgrade pixels?
Upgrade pixels is an item that takes the form of a cute bottle full of colored data not just for upgrading your characters but also used for crafting.
There are many ways to get these pixels. Some examples:
- Completing story stages.
- Completing bonus stages.
- Completion of expeditions.
- You buy them in the Crystals shop.
Both leveling your characters and crafting are very important to Disney Pixel RPG, which means you are constantly draw on this unique resource. And while there are quite a few ways to restock, it either takes time, money, or you've completed some of those methods and aren't guaranteed to get any new pixels from them again.
So, how exactly should you accumulate upgrade pixels?
Play the stages of the story
Best for new players
Whether you've completed all the chapters or just a few, you can go back and replay any story mission you want. You won't get many upgrade pixels by playing the chapter stages but it is the starting point.
Find a chapter that your party can easily beat. The example used here is the hard version of Chapter 3, Stage 2. Next to the Start button is auto battle feature. Every time your energy meter is full, throw the puppy on the car and watch your characters beat the same stage as many times as your energy level allows.
This is not the best way to get as many upgrade pixels as possible, but it's a way to start at stages you know you're already capable of beating. This tip works best when you're just starting out and trying to crack a certain stage or boss.
Play bonus stages 1-1 and 3-1
Stage 1-1 for beginners, Stage 3-1 as you progress
Bonus stages give you much more than just story stages. When you first start playing the game and you want to start upgrading your characters before embarking on the next stages of the story, replay bonus 1-1. You will get about 60 upgrade pixels each time you play this bonus stage.
Rewards, especially for bonus stages,
they are not a single consistent number
. All figures given are based on personal experience inside
the range that the phase provides
.
Once you get some higher level characters and they unlocked the 3-1 bonusyou get closer to 150 upgrade pixels for each attempt.
Regardless of your progress, you can play them as many times as your energy allowsaccumulating hundreds of upgrade pixels without actually looking at your phone thanks to the auto-battle feature. And if you want to maximize the number of upgrade pixels, go through these stages every time your energy is full again.
Expedition
As you continue playing the story, you will eventually unlock expeditions. Unlike story or bonus stages, these are not active rounds of combat that you either play or have in auto-battle. Instead, they let you cast characters trying to gather resources in the background.
Both Princess Saga: Aurora and Zootopia: Infiltration Mission expeditions give you upgrade pixels.
Wondering what rewards the expedition will give you? Click on

your characters will find.
You can have characters that are searching up to 20 hours at a time. But you can always recall them and send them back. Every ten minutesyour characters will have a chance find items on this quest.
The best thing you can do is quite simple, rest assured recall them before the 20 hours are up and immediately send the team back. If you want to be as efficient as possible, have alerts on will notify you when the expedition is over.
Or you can check how much there is time left before you know you won't be looking at your phone (before bed, before work or school, etc.) If you know you'll be sleeping for, hopefully, another eight hours and your quests are almost over, recall your team and send them back before you catch those z. Then you'll literally be growing pixels in your sleep.
Playing Battle Challenge levels
Whenever there is a combat challenge in the game, you want to play the highest level you can complete in auto battle as often as possible. Why? BC points and Exchange Shop.
Now, you cannot use auto-battle in the traditional way as you can in story and bonus stages where you decide how many times you want the game to go through the same stage.
However, you can have auto battle turned on and once you get the victory, you can press repeat and continue as long as you want. Collecting as many BC points as possible will allow you to do this buy lots of great stuff while the action is running. And that includes upgrade pixels.
They exist three levels of purchase to upgrade pixels. The quantity you will receive remains the samebut costs are rising as you deplete each level's supplies.
Now the Exchange Shop has lots of goodies for you to buy, lots of them harder to get than to upgrade pixels. But it's always a possibility especially if you're trying to beat higher levels challenges and you need to level up your characters to continue climbing the ladder.
So while this is obviously a great way to secure even more upgrade pixels, check out all the items in stock. Once you are bought everything you consider a prioritythen you use the remaining BC points earn or have pixels left over to upgrade.
Final Farming Tips Pixel Upgrade
Looking at these options individually, it may seem like you're still not getting many upgradeable pixels. However, when watching more than one of these steps at a timethe numbers start adding up.
The biggest obstacle is your energy in the game. Both the story and the bonus stages require energy. But expeditions don't, and while there isn't always an active combat challenge, if you do, you you don't need to use energy to participate.
So a great way to earn more upgrade pixels is start both expeditions, use all your energy on bonus stage 3-1 (if you have it unlocked) and while you wait for your energy to refill, continue playing the current Battle Challengeif someone is running.
Another way to increase your upgrade pixels is to create and focus on a team that works well together only the alignment of this team. It will only allow you to use one team of five characters for most of your battles save your pixels and focus on upgrading characters as needed. Or once you have a surplus of upgrade pixels, of course.
