Like many other creatures appearing in Pokemon Legends: ZA Obtaining Overqwil through the Mega Dimension DLC can be tricky for the uninitiated, even more so because catching his pre-evolution – the Hisuian Qwilfish – is incredibly difficult.
Similar to trying to find Feeb to evolve into Milotic, the Pokémon in this DLC have certain spawn requirements along with unique evolution methods. However, with this quick and easy guide, not only will you be able to find Hisuian Qwilfish in the Mega Dimension DLC, but you'll soon know exactly what to do to add Overqwil to your Pokemon Legends: ZA Pokedex as well.
How to get Overqwil
With the Mega Dimension DLC installed, Overqwil can rarely be found in five-star hyperspace wild zones with Poison and/or Dark typing, but the easiest way to get a Pin Cluster Pokémon in Legends: ZA is to evolve a Hisuian Qwilfish; this can happen after you do one Barb Barrage move 20 times.
But first, you'll need to catch the Hisuian Qwilfish. While the Hisuian Qwilfish is a more common spawn than the Overqwil, it is still incredibly rare and there are some key conditions to keep in mind.

How to get Hisuian Qwilfish
Other than trading with those who have already caught one in Pokemon Legends: ZA's Mega Dimension DLC, the only way to get a Hisuian Qwilfish is to find and catch one. in three-star hyperspace wild zones that are Poison and/or Dark — same type requirements as Overqwil.
Similar to following Goletto in Legends: ZA, three-star hyperspace wild zones are unlocked once you start “Hyperspace Mission 08: Hyperspace Lumiose Survey No.4” in the Mega Dimension DLC campaign; this will take you about five to seven hours from the start of the expansion's story.
On the Lumiose City map, check all hyperspace wild zones that meet these conditions and look out for the unique silhouette of the Hisuian Qwilfish: a round, ball-like shape with spikes protruding from its entire body. If such a Wild Zone with Hisuian Qwilfish has not appeared, you will need to re-roll the bench until it does.
How to get Qwilfish
If you're after the water-type Generation Two Qwilfish in Pokemon Legends: ZA's Mega Dimension DLC, these can be found in two-star hyperspace wild zones with water and/or poison typing.
These may still require some trial and error, but thankfully water-type Qwilfish are much more common than the Hisuian variant.
Creating the Hisuian Qwilfish Hyperspatial Wild Zone
If you're trying to get Hisuian Qwilfish to appear in Pokemon Legends: ZA, the fastest way to appear in the Mega Dimension DLC is continuously rerolling spawns by resting on the bench – using the “Kill some time here” option..
The best bench we would recommend for re-rolls is the one next to Nouveau Cafe (where Grisham works), right by Wild Zone 20. Not only is it one of the most central locations, but you'll find a bench right behind you right after fast travel.
This will refresh your entire map, including all created hyperspace wild zones and battle zones, with each new day and night cycle and bench rest. The simple formula you need to follow is “rest, check map and repeat” until Qwilfish appears.
However, the most important thing to remember is this Hisuian Qwilfish is one of the rarest additions to Legends: ZA from the Mega Dimension DLC — as rare as Mimikyu, if not more so. for us it took over 200 bench flips over the course of six hours (randomly with breaks) before we finally found a hyperspace wild zone with a Hisuian Qwilfish that spawned.
However, this all depends on luck, so you'll probably find one much faster; still, if you end up hunting for that long without success, don't forget that one will appear. It just might take a lot of trial and error.
How to catch Hisuian Qwilfish
In this three-star Hyperspace Wild Zones of the Mega Dimension DLC for Legends: ZA, Hisuian Qwilfish appears at level 133 or 134; this Qwilfish variant is a hybrid of Poison and Dark type so use ground attacks for super damage (our target is Garchomp with Earthquake) sweep several at once.
Hisuian Qwilfish's catch rate is not very high, but be sure to use it Ultra Balls to catch as many as possible safely. If it's night in Lumiose City, Dusk Balls also work great as a backup when entering the Wild Zone.
To give yourself plenty of time and make your Pokémon battles easier, don't forget have Hoopla eat a three-star donut and enter. Even in a game where you only unlock three-star zones, there are plenty of easy donut recipes to use in Mega Dimension.
when caught level 133-134 Hisuian Qwilfish will convert to level 23-24 in the main Legends: ZA game in regular Lumios.
How to Evolve Hisuian Qwilfish into Overqwil Fast
After catching a Hisuian Qwilfish in Mega Dimension, you can unlock its Overqwil evolution by using Barb Barrage 20 times either in battle or in Overworld Legends: ZA (such as destroying Mega Shard clusters throughout Lumiose City); the fastest way to do this is to attack one of the practice dummies in the Justice Dojo.
It is located east of Wild Zone 20 and southwest of Wild Zone 8Justice Dojo is a training ground for Ivor's Fist of Justice faction, where you can also drop off bottle caps to hyper train your Pokemon.
To the left and right of the entrance to the Justice Dojo, you'll find two practice dummies that you can attack normally, but it can take infinite damage without being destroyed. By using these Legends: ZA training dummies to crush Barb Barrage, you'll be able to evolve Hisuian Qwilfish in Overqwil much faster because you won't have to waste time finding new targets or trainers to fight.
If caught at level 23-24 like it was for us, your Hisuian Qwilfish won't know Barb Barrage yet because unlocks the move at level 28. To level it up quickly, you can use either Rare Candies or one Exp. Candy L to get to level 28 in one go.
From start to finish, considering Barb Barrage's cooldown, we were able to use the move 20 times in about three minutes and 50 secondsand unlock the Hisuian Qwilfish evolution in Overqwil. Be sure to keep track of how many times you've used the attack, as you won't be notified that Hisuain Qwilfish's evolution is unlocked until you go to the menu and see a big, bright evolution arrow next to it.
Select Hisuian Qwilfish, select 'Evolve', confirm your choiceand will evolve so you finally have Overqwil in your Legends: ZA Mega Dimension Pokémon collection.
