IN Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreenAerodactyl can be obtained by reviving an ancient amber fossil in the Cinnabar Island Laboratory. Old Amber can be obtained by talking to the scientist in the building next to the museum in Pewter City, which is only accessible with the HM01 Cut.

To get Aerodactyl inside Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreenyou will first need to find the appropriate Fossil, Old Amber. To get Old Amber, do the following:

Get HM01 Cut from SS Anne in Vermilion City

Defeat Misty in Cerulean City to gain the ability to use Cut outside of battle.

Get HM02 Fly on Route 16 using the Cut to access the area north of the sleeping Snorlax.

Defeat Lt. Surge in Vermilion City to gain the ability to use Fly outside of battle.

Use Fly to return to Tin City.

Use Cut to destroy the tree blocking the path to the house next to the museum.

Enter the house and talk to the scientist to get Old Amber.
How to revive Aerodactyl in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen
To revive an Aerodactyl from an ancient amber fossil, you'll need to go to Cinnabar Island. If you are going to this place for the first time, the fastest way to get there is as follows:

Get HM03 Surf from Fuchsia City Safari Zone and defeat Koga to unlock the ability to use it outside of battle.

Fly to Pallet Town and head north to the beach.

Use Surf on the water and continue north in a straight line until you reach Cinnabar Island.

Go to the Pokemon Lab next to the Pokemon Center and enter the last room in the corridor on the right.

Talk to the scientist next to the machine and give him the Old Amber Fossil to revive. The scientist says that it will take some time for the fossil to be resurrected.

Leave the Pokemon Lab and immediately return again.

Return to the scientist and he will revive the Aerodactyl.
