Find loot and credits in runs
The thing you should do the most is find good loot in your runs. You can always check the resale value of any device by hovering over it, but first you have to exfil alive and come back with your loot.
As you get better at the game and have more storage space, you can be more specific, but within the first few hours you should focus on simply grabbing everything you can. When your inventory is full and you have nothing else to do, focus on getting out alive. Just keep an eye out for more loot if you find unusual items.
Always compare the rarity of the loot you see with the one you have on you. Rarer items will usually give you more profit. The rarity system in Marathon, from least rare to most rare, is gray
Some things you should always look out for:
- Valuable items. These types of items have a money bag symbol and are automatically sold when you return from a run.
- Data cards. Items that automatically give you and your team credits that you keep even if you die. They randomly fall into containers, on shelves, on the floor, etc.
- Credits. Yes, you can get credits directly. These can be found in containers, but it is much more common to collect them from fallen Runners.
Look for points of interest that are regular conflict zones and locked rooms that require keys. These will always have a good party.
A few final tips for this section: use free sponsored kits if you want to avoid losing valuable equipment and returning with less than you came out with, a consider using Rook Runner Shell to get money. This class is only focused on scavenging and collecting items, reducing the risk if something goes wrong.
Sale of equipment
Once you return from a successful run, you will be able to sell anything in your inventory or items you have stored in the Vault. Be sure to check the prices and think about what things you need to keep and what you can get rid of.
If you decide to sell everything in your vault, you can start refilling it with sponsored sets, free weapons, and other items that you can earn by completing faction contracts and unlocking upgrades. However, it is always more difficult to go for a run without strong equipment.
