How to get Death Tokens in Destiny 2

Death Tokens can be obtained by completing contracts within the Lawless Frontier. Deathmarks aren't a guaranteed reward from contracts, but it does exist higher chance of getting Deathmarks by completing invasions in the Lawless Frontier. However, if you want to invade, you'll need to spend a Deathmark in hopes of making one or more. Deathmarks don't seem to be tied to how successful you are in your invasion or contract, but it never hurts to try your best to get the most optimal rewards if you stake multiple deathmarks.

When attempting to farm Deathmarks, you should actively seek out Lawless Frontier activities on Master and Grandmaster difficulty, marked as unassailable by a yellow icon on the holomap. Any Lawless Frontier activity that an attacker can join will have a higher chance of rewarding Deathmarks.

There are also supposed to be weekly Deathmarks for sale, sold by Spider at the Tharsis Outpost, but he doesn't seem to have any in his inventory at the time of writing.
