How to get Kapp'n in Animal Crossing New Horizons

Kapp'n offers its boat trip services in Animal Crossing: New Horizons to anyone who unlocked it, and since update 3.0, unlocking Kapp'n is also required to access the hotel on your island.

On boat trips, Kapp'n will take you to a random type of island at 1,000 Nook Miles up to twice a day, where you can find resources like Cherry Blossoms, Star Fragments, and Gyroid Fragments. And the hotel is a huge extension Animal Crossing: New Horizons where you can complete various room design and DIY tasks to unlock exclusive items, hotel features and get hotel tickets.

To make it easier for you to access this content, we have explained how to get Kapp'n in Animal Crossing: New Horizons below, as well as everything else you need to know Types of Kapp'n Islands.

To get inside Kapp'n ACNHyou must:

Then, the day after the KK Slider first comes out, Isabelle informs you that the boat trips are now unlocked. All you have to do now is head to the end of the pier on your island to find Kapp'n chilling in his ship.

If Kapp'n isn't in his ship, head to the nearby pier hotel and start a conversation with Tom, Kapp'n, and Leilani. Kapp'n will then return to his original position on his ship when you are outside.

The links above describe exactly how to get the three-star island and unlock the KK Slider, but here's an abbreviated step-by-step summary of what to do:

  1. Pay off your initial debt of 5,000 Nook Miles

  2. Build Nook's Cranny

  3. Build your first bridge

  4. Build and place furniture for 3 incoming villagers

  5. Construct a building for residential services

  6. Build a campsite

  7. Talk to Isabelle to see your island rating

  8. Have at least eight villagers (with nine or ten you get even more points)

  9. Pull out all the weeds on your island

  10. Plant and water many varieties of flowers

  11. Plant different types of trees and shrubs (but too many trees will deduct points)

  12. Place more different items outside

  13. Place more bridges, slopes and fences

If you do all of the above, you should receive your 3-star island not long after your KK visits, unless your island has too many trees or lots of items, branches, rocks, shells, and message bottles lying on the ground.
