How to unlock every tool for collecting in Hades 2

Hades 2 Surprisingly, the game is heavy sources compared to its predecessor. You will have to look for different things on your travels to the underworld (or on the surface!) You will use back at the intersection to strengthen Melinoe.

While some of these sources are simply plants that you can pull out of the ground with small efforts, other sources will require specific tools to obtain. Naturally, this means collecting resources to unlock them in the first place. Every tool has its own recipe and it is quite easy to catch them all quite early in the game.

Updated September 24, 2025: We have updated this manual so that it contains new information from Hades 2 1.0.

There are four tools in Hades 2 and all are used to get different sources:

The Crescent pick Allows Melinoe to get minerals from nodes found in each area. Each area provides a different mineral. Multiple mining nodes appear.
The Tablet Allows Melinoe to get involved in fast mini games with large shades that will reward you with the psyche. More shades will appear.
The Silver spade Can be used for seed digging, which can be planted on land plots near Odysseus stations (as soon as these plots are unlocked by spelling). The equipment of this will appear more patches.
The Fishing rod Allows melinoe to hunt at certain points during running. Equipment of this causes more fishing to appear.

You want to equip the tool, you will need to go to its place in Training area. You can only equip one by one and if you currently have Forget-me-no This requires a source that can be obtained using one of your tools, accompanied by a useful symbol.

Melinoe can use any tool if they are unlocked. However, the equipment of one will cause it to be applicable several times during the run.

The materials you need for each tool can be found below:

Tablet	4 silver	Silver can be mined in erebus with a crescent selection. Psyche is a basic reward of meetings during runs.
Silver spade	8 Silver
Fishing rod	1 bronze, 2 fatal substance	Bronze can be mined in the city of Epyra on surface with a crescent selection. Fate fabrics can rarely get out of friendly characters while running or purchased from a poor broker.

When you unlock a new tool, it will be equipped automatically.

Late in the game you will be able to occupy Greater kindness of the Gaia spellThis allows you to upgrade your tools in the silver pool.

Each tool can be upgraded for up to one timeThus they are more effective.
