How to unlock extra storage in StarRupture

Wandering the ever-regenerating lands of Arcadia-7 in StarRupture can be a challenging but satisfying task, with many different minerals and other resources to collect. Eventually, your personal inventory will quickly fill up and you'll want to expand it to collect more resources as you explore.

There are several storage solutions in StarRupture, including multiple slots in your character's inventory, personal storage in each of your stations, and large warehouses for handling large amounts of items in your interconnected buildings. Here's everything you need to know about increasing storage in StarRupture.

StarRupture is currently in early access, so some information may change over time. We'll let you know when that happens.

How to unlock and increase storage in StarRupture

Starrupture Personal storage in Habitat.

At the beginning of the game you have 24 inventory slots on your character. Each of these slots can be filled with up to hundreds of each resource or item. The amount you can carry for each item depends on what it is. For example:

  • Ammunition: 300 per slot
  • Ore: 100 per slot
  • Basic building materials: 1,000 per slot

It's a pretty generous number of inventory slots when you first explore the land, but eventually you will need more spaceespecially when you start traveling further afield. It is recommended that you pick up everything you come across every time you travel from your base, because everything has a use and you will need it often hundreds of these sources. You will soon notice how quickly your inventory fills up.

Story items, weapons and tools do not take up space in your inventory. Story items such as blueprints are also not dropped upon death.

Because the planet suffers from regular wave attacks that ravage the land and kill everything in its path (including you, if you're not careful!). exploration can be very risky. With that in mind, you must wear some basics in case you get caught during a wave.

The only thing that can protect you during a wave is yourself Habitat protected by Basic core. If you intend to go exploring for an extended period of time, take enough resources to quickly build basic care and a habitat with air chamberto keep you safe. You will need the following:

  • Basic core: 1 Meteorite Heart
  • Habitat: 20 Basic building materials
  • Transition chamber: 10 Basic building materials
StarRupture character inventory.

Of course it means two of your slots are taken up by basic building materials and meteorite heartswith additional slots for ammo, food and drink, leaving just a handful for resource gathering.

First you can upgrade your inventory by accepting contracts from Selenian Corporation. After completion level 3 contract with the company, you will have another 8 inventory slots. You then have the option to further upgrade your inventory using contracts from other companies:

  • The future healthcare solution: level 7
  • Griffiths Blue Corporation: level 8
  • Moon Energy Corporation: level 11

After unlocking each upgrade, you end up with 56 inventory slots for your character. That should be enough for one long journey across the land, collecting flora and minerals, or uncovering plans and war bonds from deceased humans.

As you continue to mine, refine, and craft items, you'll need them storage at your base. There are Personal Storage solutions to store any excess items for safekeeping and later use, as well as Storage Warehouses that can be placed on assembly lines to store excess materials during refining and production.

A sprawling factory floats off to the left, Pioneer drives a small factory cart to the right, and a truck sits in the middle.

All storage types

They exist four storage types in StarRupturefrom his own small inventory to big expandable storage units attached to your buildings outside. Each of them can help you streamline and organize your resources properly and keep your production lines under control.

Personal storage is unlocked using Smart robotics with a level 2 contract, with a larger upgrade later at level 9. These are located in your Habitat, with 18 slots in the common warehouse and 42 slots in a major upgrade. Personal storage slots act like slots in your inventory, with each slot holding a different number of each resource (100 of one type of ore, 1000 building materials, etc.).

Building a repository in StarRupture.

Put all personal storage on the walls to save space in your stations.

Warehouses they are located outside and are intended to redistribute resources to all connected buildings. Unlock this storage type by completing it level 3 contract with Clever Roboticswith an upgrade later to level 8. This contains 400 units of one item, upgraded to 1600 units at level 8.

Multiple storage keeps your excess items safe before sending them to the machines that require them. Unlike warehouses, these warehouses store 2500 units of different items in one place. Unlock this storage solution at level 12 contract with Smart robotics.

Expandable storage it is like Multistorage, but with the possibility of further expansion. Each expansion contains 1600 units of different items and each one uses more energy, so more units will need to be added. Unlock it on level 13 with Smart robotics.
