Path Of Exile 2: How To Respect Skill Points
Have you invested in the wrong passive skill point in Path of Exile 2? Here's how to return those points and allocate them elsewhere.
Wondering how spells work? In this guide, we'll look at how spells work in Path of Exile; this will include how to find and use them, as well as how to get more spell slots. Spell descriptions can be a bit confusing at first, so we'll cover their exact effects as well.
What are charms?
There are spells small accessories that provide defense effects such as resistance to fire or resistance to poison. These effects trigger when you get hit by the associated attack/effect. For example, the Sapphire Charm provides a 25 percent increased cold resistance after taking hit damage; it will take four seconds.
Like potions, spells have charges which you will need to note down. When your spell runs out of ammo, it won't activate. So the Sapphire Charm example above will not grant Cold Resistance if you are hit with Cold damage. Fees can be increased by killing monsters or replenishing them at the well.
Spells can be increased in rarity. For example, you can use Orb of Transmutation for magic to make it magical.
With that in mind, you will also be able to use materials on it add or change modifiers. The main effect of the spell will remain the same. We added a modifier to our Sapphire Charm that causes our mana to recover by four after casting the spell.

All spells have 80 charges, but will use different amounts per use depending on the spell. There are also modifiers that reduce the amount of charges the spell will use to activate. In general, however, a basic spell has about one to two uses before it has enough charge.
Where to place spells
Spells can be equipped based on the belt you are currently wearing. If you don't have a belt, then you will not be able to use spells. Fortunately, belts can drop from enemies upon defeat, similar to most other equipment types.
You can too buy a belt from the seller and also play for it with Finn. If you are unable to drop the belt, we only recommend he heads to Renly at Clearfell Camp and buys one. Once you put on your belt, at least one slot is unlocked. From the inventory screen these are the three small boxes below the belt hole.
Magic slots will be too appear directly to the right of your potions, allowing you to easily check the effects and charges it currently has.
How to get more spells
So how do you get these spells? In the first place they have a chance to get out of virtually anything in the world. If you go through the story and kill every monster that comes your way, you will have a good chance of getting the spell.
Overall we recommend only go through each map and watch for all the spells that drop. There is a limited amount in the game, so we recommend it cling to every spell that falls; you can stash extras.
