Mewgenics may be about battling your ever-growing army of cats, but there's also plenty to dive into when it comes to raising your feline friends. While you can let your cats do their work at night and reap the rewards in the morning, this would greatly limit the quality of the kittens they give birth to. By spending time learning about your cats, separating them into different parts of the house, and limiting inbreeding, you'll be on your way to super strong cats for your next adventure outside of your house. However, if you want to limit your cat's inbreeding, you need to know how to find a cat's parentage by viewing their pedigree in Mewgenics.

To unlock the cat family tree view, you will need to give Tink 21 cats. This can be selected by selecting a cat, viewing a small bio and clicking on the pedigree icon to the left of the picture of the selected cat.

This update is technically the third update you will get from Tink. The first for giving him one kitten will get you a Fancy Bow. The second upgrade unlocks the Base Stats view, which shows the DNA traits cats can pass on to their kittens, and the Bonus Stats, which shows how much the base stats can increase or decrease. It is unlocked after donating another 10 kittens.

The third update for Tink allows you to check if a unit is inbred by viewing their pedigree. This is important because inbred cats are more likely to cause health problems in their offspring. The more inbreeding a cat has in their pedigree, the more likely they are to inherit birth defects that lower their stats. They will also look much uglier.

Once you know which cats are related to which, after donating 20 more kittens to Tink, you'll unlock the ability to add a shape to the cat's name. Give cats from the same family the same shape and you'll help prevent inbreeding from moving forward.

Next to the pedigree view, an icon will be added to the right of the cat's age on the bio page. This is a quick way to check if a cat is inbred or not. A straight face indicates that the cat is not inbred, which means it could be a prime candidate for breeding with some of your other top cats.
