FortniteThe game's currency, V-Bucks, has been available for sale since the early days. Players could exchange their V-Bucks for cosmetic items and passes; could only be spent on official Epic Games content. However, that has now changed and players can spend V-Bucks on creator-created islands.
How to Redeem a Fortnite Gift Card (PC, PlayStation, Xbox & Mobile)
Players can get cosmetics and V-Bucks in Fortnite by redeeming gift cards they have purchased or received as a gift.
Players will no doubt have some questions about how shopping on the island works Fortniteand the goal of this guide is to tell them everything they need to know about this feature so they don't accidentally spend any V-Bucks they'd rather keep.
How to find out if a creative map has island shopping
Players can check if a Creative map has island shopping options before loading it. To do this, they need to hover over it in the Discovery tab, select Show Details, and then see if it's there “Transactions on the island” above the maximum amount of player information.
Can you keep items purchased on the island?
Creative Maps will save players progress so if they make a purchase on the island it will remain linked to their profile. However, any island items they obtain cannot be used in any other creative environment or Fortnite game modes. So if they get a cosmetic on an island, they will only be able to equip it while playing that map.
Can you refund V-Bucks spent on Creative Island?
Epic Games has confirmed that it cannot issue refunds or returns for intra-island transactions on creator-created islands.. Item Shop purchases can be returned or canceled within a certain time frame, island purchases cannot.
Therefore, if an island contains V-Buck transaction options, players must navigate it with extra caution to avoid accidental purchases.
Fortunately, a screen will pop up before making a purchase with information about what they can get and how much it costs. So the game doesn't automatically take money from them.
Can you ban shopping on the island?
Unfortunately, there is no setting that allows players to disable transactions on the island. Parental controls can be used to prevent linked accounts from purchasing random reward products.
How much can it cost to shop on the island?
Island purchases can be set between 50 and 5,000 V-Bucks. Since there is no way to disable these transactions and they cannot be reversed, players must be careful what they click when entering an island with an “island transaction” warning.
While 50 V-Bucks is only about $0.49, a pack of 5,000 V-Bucks costs $36.99, which is a significant amount that players would not be able to get back.
